Well that's a tough question.
It's slow capable but you won't be doing that for long. Way too much fun running and gunning with rolls, etc.
I glide it in to land with throttle off.
I would say a touch faster than you're Sukhoi is a safe minimum.
If you dial the rates way down, you can control it fairly easily.
It can turn super quick if you're not easy on the ails.

I can't even imagine this thing on 3s in a V2 model.
My V1 is fast as heck.
I'm assuming the extra power is for aerobatics.

That makes sense.

Thank you

Well, don't turn your expectation up to high

Maidened my V2 today and flew it back to back with my V1.
No noticeable higher top speed, and the added weight just makes the V2 more brutal in the stalls. More wing rock in harriers, and needs to be landed at higher speed than the V1. On the positive side I like the newer color scheme better, and I get a bit longer flying time with V2.

I am seriously considering swapping the 2 cell motor and ESC over in the new body, like that setup better, and take the inevitable crash with the 3 cell setup in the old worn V1 airframe

As expected. This bird needs to be kept light. I think the Zippy 2s 350 batteries are the max. you want in them. As you keep piling on weight the flight characteristics take a dive.

Flown near stock weight and at correct CG it's fast but very stable and rolls and loops amazingly. Being virtually symmetrical it has zero self-righting tendencies, however.

i have a really weird problem with this plane. When flying with high rates, when i pull back hard on the elevator at speed, the plane obviously goes up but it also wants to spiral. If i don't pull back as much, it doesn't spiral. The same thing happens on low rates?? I don't see the ailerons moving when i pull back hard when the plane is in my hand. I make sure I am pulling straight back when in flight as well.

I don't mean to be rude but this info really makes me happy!
I'm thrilled with my V1 and was feeling the pain of just missing out on the V2.
Now I don't feel so bad about the whole deal.
It almost sounds like the V1 is a better overall plane.
Thanks!

Every time you post about this you say "I pull back hard" on the elevator.
Stop doing that...

You have to limit travel with your low rates.
What do you have them on?
Keep going down until you can't do tight enough loops to suit you.
At that point if it's still spraling out, you have another issue perhaps.

Just the colors, all parts are interchangeable (and it comes in the V1 box with picture of a V1, just a small sticker to tell its V2 - and a V1 manual)

It is not the ailerons - it is because you stall...

Yep, I prefer the 2 cell version too - so the old motor/ESC is moving over in the new airframe

I have had this same issue on some light foamy aircraft. In each case it was the elevator twisting in the middle where the foam is thinnest, when in flight. Reinforcing this weak point with small music-wire taped in place solved the problem.

Good call! I noticed my elevator was creased a bit but dident pay much attention to it. I will try to reinforce it to see what happens.
