MOON PORT Modelers RC club swap & fly-in (Central Florida)
It has been announced that Moon Port Modelers RC Club on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22nd, 2011 will host a FUN-FLY & SWAP MEET!
This RC Club is located in Titusville, Florida (State Road 50 & I-95 is the closest point for major intersection) and for additional details with Aerial Satellite Map go to:
Here is the E-Mail from Rodney Iwan with the details and additional insight of the event that are planned.
Fun Fly 22 October
Do not forget the funfly on Saturday the 22 October. This is also a time to bring those items you want to sell/swap/trade for display. Bring a table/stand for those items.
Unless special circumstances occur the day will begin with the Bomb Drop part of the program. Following that will be the Spot Landing events then the Timed Flight.
Prizes will be awarded to first and second place in each event.
Note: none of the prizes will be returnable for exchange or refund to the contributor.
There is also free food and drink for all participants and their family and friends. Do bring chairs and umbrellas/sunshades as there will not be enough available for the large crowds we expect. You fliers are welcome to come early and fly any electric powered planes prior to 8:00 AM, no ignitions (GLOW / GAS) planes allowed to run prior to 8:00 AM.
Here are the rules for the contests:
Bomb Drop Start at 8 AM. Contestants must use the ball provided by the club as bombs. These are practice golf balls or ping pong balls (light so as not to cause harm if you miss the target to far). The club will provide a mechanism to hold the bomb but you can use your own design of a bomb drop as long as it will work with the club provided balls. You will be given two chances to do the bomb drop and use the best of the two attempts.
This will start at the conclusion of the Bomb Drop event. There will be one attempt. You will take off and (with no aid of a timer, watch or other device) do a roll and a loop and then whatever you want before landing. You will attempt to fly exactly two minutes timed from when the wheels leave the ground on take off until they touch on landing.
Your score will be the number of seconds less than or longer than 2 minutes, low score wins. There will be a first and second prize.
Spot Landing You will be allowed two flights where you attempt to land as close to a designated spot as you can, a crash landing does not count. The plane must not be damaged after the landing. The pilot must make one but not more than two circuits of the field before landing. First and second place will be awarded.
After the Spot Landing, the field will be open for all flyers to just have fun.
