Has anyone flown this or own one yet? Anxious to see the reviews, looks nice.

ST Models has stepped up to the plate and produced this and a new re-designed DG-1001M version with fresh kewlartdesigns.com style graphics and landing gear. Wonder if the designers at ST Models are viewing my photos over here?

In the look's department it's a stretch as a 17. Just another e-glider. Thank goodness I scratch build.

There was a review of this in one of the British mags, RCM&E I believe. Basically seemed to fly pretty good. It did show some pics of the root, there is a ton of undercamber in the airfoil.

Interestingly though it doesnt show up on the ST Model web site yet

I saw the same that it didn't show on the ST Models website. There is a link on the site that allows you to gain access to high res files . I'll post these up after reducing the size.

If anyone's still interested I've pulled the trigger on one of these and should have it in my hands middle of next week.

I just couldn't resist it.

I like scale looking sailplanes with cruciform horizontal stabs. (non T-tail)
This one reminds me of the Multiplex FIESTA (non-scale sailplane)

I'll certainly post my impressions when I get it.......still waiting for it to arrive at my LHS.
Hoping it arrives soon as I have a holiday Thursday and Friday so looking forward to a long weekend of flying if the weather plays ball.

You are welcome. I asked Hobbico distributing (listed on ST Models as the contact - airsupport@hobbico.com ) but received a canned response, not at this time. However, the squeaky wheel gets the grease and I would hope they listen, if enough interested parties request.

Since I really like ST-Models products and how well they fly, this ASW-17 would fit nicely with my other two ST Model ASW-28 and DG-1000 sailplanes! I really think that Tower Hobbies could sell a lot of these.

had mine since last november, only flew it mid January. Everything that was said in the RCME review was correct , flies really well, use correct battery , first flight I used an available 800mah and she was very twitchy bought a 1500 now and it has cured any problems with a rearward cg............. all in all, not bad value for money

In your flight testing, if you find it can get to 200 meters altitude in 30 seconds with stock
motor and prop, then it's a candidate for Altitude Limited Electric Soaring (ALES) competition.
At least for those of us who go to those contests with molded foam planes. <vlg>
