ASW-17 from ST Models
I noticed this over on hype-rc.de website and then found it available through SMC in the UK. Unfortunately, not available from towerhobbies.com yet...
Please send in your requests to Hobbico airsupport@hobbico.com so Tower Hobbies can sell this! Has anyone flown this or own one yet? Anxious to see the reviews, looks nice. ST Models has stepped up to the plate and produced this and a new re-designed DG-1001M version with fresh kewlartdesigns.com style graphics and landing gear. Wonder if the designers at ST Models are viewing my photos over here? http://www.hype-rc.de/?page=shop/fly...e&setlang=deu# http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk...d.asp?id=36234 ![]()

Asking Tower to add a kit
Quote:
Thanks for posting this. I like scale looking sailplanes with cruciform horizontal stabs. (non T-tail) This one reminds me of the Multiplex FIESTA (non-scale sailplane) http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1595696 I don't mind asking Tower Hobbies (Illinois, USA) to consider stocking it. Do you know if we've had any success at asking Tower to add a kit to their line? // Dave |

I'll certainly post my impressions when I get it.......still waiting for it to arrive at my LHS. Hoping it arrives soon as I have a holiday Thursday and Friday so looking forward to a long weekend of flying if the weather plays ball. Steve. |

Since I really like ST-Models products and how well they fly, this ASW-17 would fit nicely with my other two ST Model ASW-28 and DG-1000 sailplanes! I really think that Tower Hobbies could sell a lot of these. Photos are from ST-Models |

had mine since last november, only flew it mid January. Everything that was said in the RCME review was correct , flies really well, use correct battery , first flight I used an available 800mah and she was very twitchy bought a 1500 now and it has cured any problems with a rearward cg............. all in all, not bad value for money

This plane work for ALES contests?
Quote:
Thanks for posting the construction photos. I'm liking this model more and more. Reminds me of a MULTIPLEX EASY GLIDER PRO - only better looking. Steve, In your flight testing, if you find it can get to 200 meters altitude in 30 seconds with stock motor and prop, then it's a candidate for Altitude Limited Electric Soaring (ALES) competition. At least for those of us who go to those contests with molded foam planes. <vlg> // Dave CAMS-Polecat-Soaring Circuits 2K12 ALES Open Soar http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1572895 US ALES (Altitude Limited Electric Soaring) http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1330889 |
