I kind of thought that might be the case. I'm with you, called off.

Just placed my order for two fan units, one for my LX F-16 and one for the Venom 70mm F-86, which should arrive tomorrow.
I opted for the air mail shipping on the fans, so we will see how long it takes. I know the suspense will be killing me!

The F-86 comes with a 2836KV motor so i am hoping it will be just a simple impeller and esc swap. I plan on trying the stock 2400KV motor on 5S in the F-16.

parkfly27 - How do you like the LX F-16? I have one NIB and was contemplating throwing this fan in it too. Are you using the retracts or hand-launcing it?

This fan is pitched greater than the stock LX fan rotor, your amps will go up

good point, maybe it will give good enough performance on 4S. If i can get 60 amps i will be happy. The LX F16 isn't that heavy of a plane, but it would be cool to have more thrust than weight, with the TV system.

therealhiphop, i fly mine without the gear. It's stupidly east to hand launch and flies much better without the added weight. It's super easy to fly and can do some interesting aerobatics with the thrust vector, but speaking from experience, the landing gear is just not worth it.

Got to hand it to Xflight placed my order on Friday. Got the email that the order shipped same day and low and behold mailman knocking on my door this morning with my order . 3 days from HK to Phila worth the extra 6 bucks to me for the ESM shipping. Real nice looking fans and my motors fit real nice. Will run them up in a day or two and get some numbers to post. Thanks Xlight U da man .

Ok, Here are a few pic's of the fans. I put a Sapac D2842-3100Kv motor in one of the fans.

sound recording

anyone got one up and running on video yet, cant wait to hear the kind of sound this thing will make. Whats everyone's thoughts on xflight recommending 3400kv on 4S , seems high for that kind of blade count.

May have to order a one to test in a composite A4

I've got 4 units coming this way and plan to test them with a varity of 28mm inrunner motors (Mega, Het RC, Roxxy, TGY and Leopard). As far as I am concerned a 500 to 1000 Watt suits me fine. Hopefully the thrust versus wattage curve will be in favour of thrust rather than efflux... I want these fans to have a scale like sound for my Luft46 projects.
My gutt feeling tells me that the long can (+50mm) motors at kv 2500 to kv 3000 are the way to go on a 4s pack. The long can provides torque which this one will need because of its rotorload.

I may give it (cautious) go with the motor included in with my JPerkins A4

* RPM per volt: 3400
* Shaft diameter: 4mm
* Dimension: 28x51mm
* Weight: 140g
* Max current: 40A
* Nicad/NiMh: 6-14 cells
* Lithium polymer: 2-4 cells

Would be pushing it but will be intersting to see what figures I get. The current fan unit is a 69mm 5 blade unit which looks very much like a HET 6904.

Kicks out about 700W at about 50amps on 4cell

I'l probably end up with 100amps and some smoke. But more intersted in the sound than efficiency

Radio56 is that the older SAPAC motor? I think I have that same motor. It's what I got when I bought my L-39, before they started using the blue, MB1 motors.

How is the fit?

What's the first picture showing with the spinner that looks concave? Is that an optical illusion, or? What type of fan adapter is included? Collet, or set screws - and what's the shaft size for the adapter?

Have you run it up yet?

Is it just me, or is there a significant gap between the blades and the shroud?

There is, I have enough shrouds where I can close that down or use duct tape layers.

This looks like it has the same load as a 3" haoye, would love to see eflux numbers
