Just got two new CS70-10 with the collet adapters. The rotor is unchanged and the washers are there to capture the rotor in between.

My set looks just like the parts that X-flight shows on thier website.
Maybe tonight when I return home from work I will snap a pic or two.

Where did you get those? I'm having an issue with the grub screws slipping. I hate it.

The new adapters come with the new fans from X-Flight. I have not put it together yet so I cant comment on how well it works.

So what was the problem with old adapters? I have an early version CS10 that I never did use and plan on using, should I order a new adapter? Tried searching the thread but didn't find any indication of a problem...

May be tricky to center properly on some undersize motor shafts - some later batches were also not drilled and cleaned properly.

Out of the 15 or so of mine, only 3 had a problem.

imo , the collet style adapters have there own set of issues also. although they may clamp tightly around the shaft close to the motor , if the shaft is undersized or the collet oversize , the area near the end of the shaft can move independent of the rear, as they do not clamp down fully except in the area near the motor. this can make for some inconsistent balancing to say the least.

with a small flat on the shaft i have had no issues w/ the set screw type slipping, centering can be a whole other deal though.

chuck.

Screw adaptors would be the best.... and you should have ones that are a snug fit, or fractionally too tight (heat them to fit then).
Well, I guess then you better also have decent made ones.... hole centred.... straight... etc.
Which probably not too much Chinese stuff is highly accurate at all.....

So that means to be sure, you almost have to buy a decent made after-market one. (ExtremeRC or Tamjets).
But if you have the ability, first try the stock one and assess that statically, and then test it dynamically, and it could be fine (or fine enough).

Motor flats....no flats..... I have never had one come loose anyway. If you do them up correctly, and use loctite, they seem totally fine long term.
