St. Martin: It is only natural to loss thrust when you remove areal form the rotor regardless of the shape of the blades, but I must emit there is a limit to how much you can remove from a scimitar shape... After cutting the fan I ended up with a pitch of just over 45 degrees at the tip, so it is not to bad.
I understand your point completely. Removing area reduces static thrust. I was noting the difference between cutting back a conventional blade vs a scimitar shape.

When I cut down a minifan to 66mm I can up the Kv and still draw the same amps. e.g. HET 3w (3000Kv)minifan on 4s 33A/430W 66mm(505), ARC 28-37-2(3750Kv) 32A/430W.

Static thrust was lost. But dynamic thrust was gained with higher efflux. Taking both fans, and just swapping the rotor, the 8 blade scimitar had higher watts and amps in the minifan. But far less amps and watts after cutting back to 66mm as compared to the cut mini rotor.

It was just an experience, that a special shaped rotor is designed to function in it's original planform, or lose efficiency(hence the cavitating sound that was not present in the 8 blade uncut version).

But, I'm all for experimenting. That's why I wished you the best with the trial. You never know when you will stubble upon something that works good.

All I can tell you is the Lander intakes suit Lander fans from 2009, if the thread is still the same they will fit, no way for me to know though sorry.

Anyone know if there is any dealer in the US that makes alum spinners for these? We all know how much of a pain the stocks are to get balanced and I refuse to run no spinner =P

Yikes...that is a lot of money for what it is...with that being said, if Tam is the only one making em Ill spend the $70 for the spinner/washer/adaptor pair as much as it would kill me inside.

Really wish shipping from Aussyland wasnt a million dollars...I really want Extreme's metal CS units.

It's not a million dollars really..
Not dirt cheap like shipping from Hong Kong or China but reasonable if you need the alloy treatment.

Think it was $80ish for two 70mm units. Would bring me to $230...$150 increase over just the T spinners/adaptors, so its still a consideration. Will have to think on it.

That's perplexing. I got 1 70mm fan + several other bits and pieces for around $23 shipping.
