HET 2W-30, tested it at 1680watts and 74amps with a semi-full battery.

I have probably 30-40 flights now on this setup.

OMG Tam. You put a CS rotor in your K&A built for 90mm? You are a freaking brave guy. I can't believe it flew with such a small fan. Who knew???

Well my JetArrows A-10 went in big-time at the Woodland Jet Meet today (lost radio and nose dive at WOT); so I'm going to get a new one and maybe look at the CS setup.

What is a realistic Watt & Amp expectation with an ARC 28-58-1 on 4S (3180 KV).

I was using HET6904 in the A-10 before and was getting about 1100 watts on each motor...flew real nice.

Last night I ran another one in the shop to make sure that rotor give up over 46k rpm.
Sure enough it fail right after 46k plus.
So three out of three fail over 46k rpm.
It seen working flawless at 44.5k rpm for many flight we did.

Thanks :-)

looks like it is well within the threshold 46K RPM limit too
6S*3.6V*2200KV*0.8 = 38K RPM

Mark of ExtremeRc quote
"The 2W30 pulls around 65A for 2.1kg thrust ... . RPM is over 39K "

Found this and thought it was interesting...

CHANGESUN CS 70mm 10blade edf 6s bae hawk perfect sound pressure (4 min 43 sec)

The guy posting the video quotes:

What is the secret to getting a sound similar to the reaction turbines?
1 The pressurisation that is created between the air inlet ducts and outlet. More blades are in an impeller and more pressure is produced in the form of vortices. The shape, size, the length of the pipes generate various sound frequencies. The additional air intakes applied near the impeller, NACA aeronautical jargon calls, increase the noise, but decrease the inlet pressure, changing the sound. Here are 2 examples with and without sound Naca.
2 the choice of engine: the inrunner are quieter and if the quality does not generate vibrations. Then make sure to balance the impeller well. I use nail polish. I have a dozen flights and the enamel comes off.

Hey how are you, just to help everyone out regarding the new changesun 10 blade fan.
(This fan unit doesnt work at all, doesnt matter what kind of motor you install. These 10 blade requires so much amp it sucks. Motor starts to over heat and lipo battery puffs like theres no tomorrow. As per the setup i had- changesun 10 blade with cyclone 3000kv, castle creation 75a esc, i tried with different kv also and it sucks. I had to return these fans and get wemotec. Much better less stress

Hey Fredy26, I'd say there are quite a few people and videos out there that will disagree with you. Maybe the Cyclone power series of motors are not as well suited to the CS fans as HET. Also what batteries were you using?

A cyclone motor would have been waaay overloaded! No wonder it drew so many amps. Get better or bigger lipo's if yours are puffing.

It's not way overloaded. If he is actually refering to the CS480-3300kv, it is on the borderline. It pulls 85-90amps for 1.8Kg of thrust but because it is on a standoff in the airstream it gets cooled and doesn't burn.

I am running this on 4S but it needs big lipos. I use 4000mah 25c gens ace and they come down hot if I overdo it and nano-tech 4000mah 35-70c.

Any smaller lipo cannot supply the current.

Fredy26 is saying what is true if you're used to the arf 70mm jets that fly on a 2200 3s for 5 minutes at 27 and a half miles per hour.

Anlucas, I'm getting the same numbers on the same setup using a k-force 100a esc, I tried a 5s pack but stopped when it started shaking due the the cheesy housing. I used Tams shaft set, never balanced anything.

A motor that is 'on the borderline' is way overloaded as far as I am concerned... so I'll stick to what I stated before.

Ditch the crappo techs and get some real lipo's like Thunder Power G6 series.

The max kv for 5S on this fan is 2700kv-2800kv IF the motor is cooled properly and IF efficiency is not important.

If not then 2300kv which is the most efficient setup.

Obviously, at these higher rpms, the fan has to be balanced well or something will break down the line.

I guess it comes down to personal choice. 3300kv is not efficient for this fan but if I don't have the option to go to 5S or 6S to lower the amps then it can do the job.

The Thunder Power G6 series are really nice but the 3-4x price tag is not attractive for very many of us.
