A note on 65c Packs...
A heated 65c pack big or small seems to pick up voltage or hold voltage a lot longer under load especially after being warmed....a motor that is running next to it's peak on 45c packs for instance (which is a good thing IMHO, you're getting all of what you pay for) isn't going to like those 65c packs at 10 - 20% more amps. On the bench I wasn't testing a pack long enough for it to warm up, a warmed pack is going to drop IR slightly and either hold voltage or pick up a half to full volt (which is what the HK Nanos are doing) I've burned 5 motors (CPs, MB1, AMMO, TACON) on my 65c packs in the last 4 months, fortunately I'm experienced at dead stick landings

This is why I keep the amps below 60... High timing or 65-70 amps pushes the temp 180+F. I don't see any changes to the windings. |

I can't quite picture (hint hint :roll eyes how your using the washers in your CS housing given the high lip around where the motor screws go?I normally use washers with my other housings but just couldn't see how they could be used with the CS. Cheers anyone who can point me in the right direction. Dave |

Has anyone tried this motor?
http://rc-castle.com/shop/product_in...oducts_id=1553 You have to scroll down and the motor is listed as an optional motor for the Freewing F-16. It is shown to be a CP480-3300-40EDF 3300kv Upgrade Motor. It is an outrunner, but does NOT have the standoff like this CP motor. http://rc-castle.com/shop/product_in...roducts_id=560 The first one I'm sure has the 4mm shaft while the second one is the 3.17mm shaft. The problem though is the first motor isn't listed seperately on the RC Castle website. |

Search this thread and you'll find quite a bit of data on the CP 3300. My little report here. I got my 4mm version from RC Castle when I ordered the F-16 but can't remember if it was listed separately. Cheers |

Andrew, Erh, OK, thanks.
I'm going to run Nano's, paired 3S3000 25-50C, Castle 80 with heat sink. Low timing. BEC disconnected, and heat sink sits slightly down into the intake for cooling. We'll see what happens. ![]() Funny for the day. Ran up the set up on 4S today to check thrust (nearly 1:1 in the X airframe) Held it a little too close while doing so. WHOOMP! Sucked my Tee shirt into one of the intakes! Thank goodness for long intakes, no damage done. Other then nearly wetting myself.

![]() I'll check a CS-10 with the 2855/2300kv motor tomorrow and get back to ya. Just started on my TWM JB-11 today, what an awesome kit! With it's HUGE Intakes(3.25"wide x 3.85"high) and Exhaust Nozzles( 68mm) plus the long 17" Intakes it's taylor made for the ChangeSun 10 Blade Fans! May close the exhaust down to 60mm or so. I'm doing some additional mods to mine starting with replacing the slightly out of scale nose cone with a Freewing SU-35's, looks-more better. Also using the FW SU-35 E-Retracts that's going to be a job. Already cut out for the nose gear. I ripped the gay pilot outt'a there too replacing him with a more scale slightly smaller one and detailing the cockpit. May change it to an SU-27 since I have some good Russian decals. Sorry, I got carried away, I'll post details over on the TWM JB-11 thread... Rick |

I think the 2150 or 2200 is perfect at around 70amps the 1810 is too low of kv to make any power on 6s it would be well under 40k rpm and not enough power to overcome the weight of the 6s pack |

GG,
If you want max RPM For your up coming race there is a 2000 KV motor which should be good for 6S "AND" 7S. No doubt on 6S it will have more RPM than the 2100 KV you mentioned. Also if you want to use a low AMP HV ESC, I have a 11S/12S option. Possibly knocking on 50,000 RPM range. Those motors are sitting new in a box. Let me know in a PM if interested. Gryphon |
