They are 1" long and 4-40 US screws. The riser is 1/4" under the board and my Assan 4ch Tx fit perfectly under there. For power distribution, I simply solder all the red ESC together and all the black ESC wires together and attached a battery lead. It is flight ready, just waiting for the props -- I hope to have them tonight.

Are they 4-40 bolting the motors on also?

Sorry, the motor mounts... I use 2x8mm -- or 2.5x8mm -- I buy them in the 100 packs from HobbyKing.

Cool, I like the head lights on there. The roll cage is great too. Are you going to hang the CC board under it?

Just ordered a frame. Have all other parts from HK which shipped out yesterday, so when they get here I'll be ready. Might try a quad +, never done that one before, have built a tri using multiwii board, but that's about it. Do the X and + fly about the same, I can not see why they should not. Just thinking, with my poor eyesight a + might be better for me to see which way I am going, more of an plane type of silhouette.

I went and picked up my props from BMKDesigns.net last night (friend of mine) and flew the little guy!

Flew it around my house.... with the 3s pack it is so peppy that I shot it up into the ceiling fan. All is fine.

I am still waiting for the prop adapters so I am using the prop savers now with rubber bands. I am going to try and get some video soon.

OH, it is 140 grams without the battery.

The frame is all clear coat, then the tips have some color. I don't like the feel of unpainted wood -- kind of like a chalkboard for me.

Looks like a bunch of you guys are using the GWS 5x3x3 props. How is the quality on those, are they nicely balanced? I'm trying to get away from the HobbyKing 'GWS-like' garbage and might just have to try those three-bladed props.

I just flew mine and did some video -- I am using GWS 5030 - 3 blade and I didn't balance them at all. I am using the crappy rubber bands and the prop adapters so I don't think that helps either. But I will post up a video soon.

I am using the MWC Bob's Super Simple Shield with MultiWii 1.8patch2 -- first flight is all 100% default settings. Half way through I adjust the RC rate to 1.10 so I can do some loops and flips. I really like this sucker. I ordered 4 more batteries last night as the ones I have this size are all very old. I will share the video up when I get it edited.

159grams -- not bad, but you don't have the Flight Control board or Rx on there yet. Mine comes in at 140 grams with everything except the battery. I am using Nylon screws and nuts -- that has to be it.

The rx board will solder right to the small flight board so hopefully it will still come in under 200g
