Just FYI, its called the Stratos.

I have been building one off and on for a while as a beta (sorry for all the delays Dan) its neat to build, the wings are the worst part and they are not bad. If you have built x-bow wings it will be a snap. Flys on a direct drive speed 300 with I believe a 5x3.5 prop.

I need to be sure folks can build one by themselves.

There are only a few pieces in this plane, but all the angles between the wings and motor are critical. I'm working on a way to ensure that it comes out right every time.

I may have to build another prototype before I'm all done. I don't have the "beauty" ship any more, since I accidentally crashed my helicopter into it. (No more helicopter flying in the office... I should be able to get it out for a few more test flights this weekend if all goes well.

It flies great. Me? not so good.

This thing is waaaay better than my Piccolo. I'm not saying that the helicopter is necessarily of better quality, but I got myself one of the "Fully Assembled and Adjusted" models. It made a big difference. My Piccolo would shake and wobble all over the place, and by the time I figured out what I was doing, it was pretty well demolished.

I really like the GWS one, it certainly seems durable.

So far, I have one slice, and one big dent on the wing on my Stratos, and I need to repaint one wall of my office But, the copter is in great shape.

Hippo - any news on the wing you were using the J250 motor on? The one you said was in your top 3 planes a few weeks ago?

Details, please....

I'm never satisfied...

I just want to make a couple of small changes to the wing layout, so that I can get all my gear stuffed down inside it. Right now the receiver is hanging out the top. Of course while I'm at it I felt the need to change the sweep angle. I don't know why I can' t leave it alone, but I'll be looking for beta testers starting this weekend after I've flown the new prototype.

I also ordered myself 60 of those J250 motors, so I might offer a combo with the motor, capacitor, plug, and props. We'll see.

Email me (Hippo@FoamFly.com) to get in on the testing.

You know the concret walls in my work shop don't show dings at all... of course the last Hornet that I flew in there though, did not fair to well when it hit them either. I tell you what those fixed pitch little helis, you have to really be ahead of the curve. However the CP Hornet was a ball to fly in there. Take off on the work bench, hover around and land it back in front of me for adjustments. That was neat...

Neat looking little plane here in the thread, can't wait to see some video of it crusing around, if you already have some, where can one find it?

Thanks,
Will

I've got some lousy video of it here on the hard drive somewhere. As soon as I can edit/compress it, I'll put it in the gallery with the photos.

Kewl, thanks Dan. I'll be sure to check it out.
