dons wicked edf plus 4400 60mm edf applications

I'm looking for airframe suggestions. I have a Dons wicked EDF plus 4400 mounted and dynamically balanced in the Dons 60mm EDF unit with a 5 blade fan. It was powering my alfa mig15 on 4s up until this past weekend when a TX failure brought the mig in for its final landing. The EDF unit is so well balanced and runs so smooth that I really want to keep it in this 60mm setup. I loved my old alfa f86 and the mig15 this setup was in previously, but the pricetags on the alfas are still just too high for me at the momment.

Can anyone suggest an EDF model available that takes a 60mm fan?

I'd love to do another alfa mig15, but even with rudder added I still got a little bored with the limited flight options, so I would love to try something with thrust vectoring.

Any suggestions?

Get a Phase 3 F16 kit form Hobby People, still use a 1.8" diameter on the outlet that should get you about 115 mph or so.

Thanks Don. A couple of guys at my field have the Phase 3 F16. I've seen it fly and it seems like a winner and at 1/3 the price of replacing the alfa. Thanks.

I won't mention that mine has an aftermarket powerplant in it. The guys at my field with the stock phase 3 will be a bit surprised when mine blows their wings off.

That will make them take notice for sure! Make sure to do the tail mod they show in the manual with the plywood pieces as the higher speed needs the taileron area beefed up.

To correct my last statement: I won't tell them it has an aftermarket powerplant until after they ask how it is so fast, at which point I will direct them your way.

I have been so impressed with this setup you assembled and balanced for me that I have been telling everyone about your products and services.

I could always here them talking about it behind the spectators fence while I was flying the mig.

Don Thanks for all of the help so far and the great products and services. I am taking my time on this one. I decided to glass it and add rudder. I have another question; do you close the cheaters?
