On my 3025-1500 with only a 6S 4000mAh 30C battery it gets exactly what you got. 20.77V 86A 1790W 2.8Kg Thrust (these are not peak, but after settling somewhat).

On DUAL (parallel) 30C it did 96A 2050W 3.0Kg. That test is a rough equal test to using a 60C battery. (All my dual battery tests have results that match a battery of their added C rating, close enough to).

Check and list your volts.... I would guess they are lowish. Under 21v area. Though a 65C should have been ok to maintain 22V+

Hmmm, checking my tests I have never recorded, or maybe saved, the few 7S tests I have done! I will have to re-do those......
With an adequate battery it could go over 100A easily. 110A area?

Maybe your battery is not 'run in' and doing it best job yet?

I have the newer heavier style rotor and on 6S with a freshly charged TP 65C 5000 battery I'm getting about 86A.
Anyone know what the RPM is on 6S with this motor? 7S?

Thanks,

Terry
Terry,

I have maidened the Hawk with that motor today. I get close to 100a on 7s with 2450w. The bats are not the best - I am sure you would be able to squeeze out some better numbers with better batts.

That sounds about right, I done a few of these with the 1500Kv motor and usually see 86-88 amps on 5000 6s packs, 3.2kg thrust or so. RPM around 28-29k.

Very nice flight! Congratulations on a successful maiden!
Sounds like your fan was well balanced too.
Cheers

I bought one of the X-Flight combos ($60), mainly as I wanted a CS12 and at that price it isn't bad value for whatever the motor was going to be.
Looking over it I would think the motor is worth about $20 or so.... $25?
So all in all it was no bargain. They assembled it, so that must be worth something(?).... technically anyway..... except you need to dis-asemble and re-assemnle it yourself anyway! So you may as well have just bought parts and done that... for a little bit less. And IF you wanted that lower end sort of motor.

It is fractionally smaller than the Turnigy 500 H3126-1600kv motor. They cost $20. And both are likely to be very close to the same capability, and over-heating at the power level they run really.

I also bought a Turnigy XK3674-1650kv inrunner..... that is made a bit different than the prior series of XK's, but it is still a nice looking motor. A LOT better than the above two 1600kv outrunners. At $29, which is 1.5x the price of those other two, it is at least going to be worth that in capability - to give the power area that its 1650kv will do ( a bit more than the outrunners 1600kv) and cope and LAST doing that!

This is for 6S use. None of them would like 7S, it is just too far up the power scale for any of them.

My last HK fan I got is the 46g rotor...boo. (Don't buy the CS12's from the Aust Warehouse!! I think they dumped remaining flawed CS12 Int stock to Aust!!)
The X-flight is the 51g rotor set.

I will set those three motor/fans up over coming days to see what each does, and heats/viability etc. But I can already see the XK3674-1650kv is going to be the clear winner and a great choice. Being a totally sealed 'car/boat' motor, it will be useful to open up the end caps IF you are going to run it to max power areas. I will run it closed for the first tests so I have those reference heats.

Thanks guys, the battery was a crappy TP 65C 5000. I hate those batteries!! I've ordered a GenAce 60C to replace it.

Graham, flight looked really good. I'll try 7S after the GensAce. I'm flying this one in a CMP T45 and I find it disconcerting how quite the fan is just like yours.

Terry,

I have now bought a 6s Gens Ace and there is a world of difference between them and the HK Nano tech's.
Regarding the sound - you will not be dissapointed, you can here the fan at distance but not the normal scream.

Nanos work if you never ever ever drive them down below 3.7 (yeah right)

Those Gen ace work down to nothing....and don't puff on the first drain out either...

Prices have gone up though...

I took the CS fan out of my CMPro T-45, too quite...couldn't hear anything.

I put a Freewing rotor in and balanced it extra fine, sound is not as good as the CS in a Fly Fly hawk but I can hear it...

There is a low level turbine scream (what I call it) that gets a lot of peoples attention on the CS and a really well balanced 5 blade fan in the CMPro without intake ducting.

Yup that's what I noticed in this one. It's just so quiet that I went in cuttoff the other day (POS TP battery!!) and didn't notice by hearing it.
Mind you I sanded and painted the inside of the intake ducts smooth. Also did a static and dynamic balance.
I almost want to put some turbulaters in it to get more of a woosh.

Anyone done this yet?

I would think something like really thin pieces of depron in the thrust tube (wouldn't chance it in the intake) wouldn't desturb static thrust all that much but creat some really nice sound...

Wouldn't take too long either...

Like putting playing cards in the bike spokes...

Safest in the exhaust!! LOL
Well, for the fan anyway.....
Wherever they go, make sure they are 100% reliably affixed!

Any chance to use the 1750kv Freewing stock motor for the CS12 90mm for a 6S setup, by reducing the throttle settings to 70 percent?

I've read a bench test with 100A and 1800W.

Thanks.

The 3025 1500kv has shorter windings than the FW 1750kv and it can last all day long on 6s when they were being wound to around 1680s kv.

I'm sure the FW with 53 mm windings will be ok at 100 amps

Where do you find one of those motors these days?
