An easy way to check magnetic poles on an inrunner is to use a compass. Just hold it to the side of the motor and turn the shaft one lap. If the compass only change from North to South, it is a 2 pole motor.

My compass only has a sharp point and a pencil holder.... no Nth or Sth ???

LOL
That sounds like another good, and easy way, to check poles!

A new shipment of replacement blades came in at HK today, These should be the newest ones.

Thanks for the tip Magnus! I tried it on various motors using a cheap compass (from a satellite dish installation kit).
It seems to work for both inrunners and outrunners. The XK4060-1500 is indeed a 4 pole.

The last batch of replacement fans (without shroud or adapter) was also the heavier stronger plastic. I bought the last 6 they had and they all weighed just over 51g. If anyone has fans from HK bought in June/July 2012 I would replace the fan before it trashes the shroud and motor shaft.

I bought the asembly a couple weeks ago from HK. Should this one be the new version?

The only way to know is to weigh the fan (minus adapter and spinner). If it is around 51g it should be stronger than the 45g version.
I ordered one a week ago but haven't received it yet.

Has anyone run the new heavier fan at substantial power (+3500w) to confirm they are in fact stronger?

i recieved my cs9012 wth the included 5mm and 8mm shaft adapters. i noticed something obvious. they drilled the spinner holes off centered on both but "B" is much more off centered. unfortanately "B" is the 5mm shaft which fits the shaft on my flyfly 1500kv. however, i did screw the spinner on anyway and it lands on correctly yet still im bothered about this.

here are some pictures taken with the old phone.

(the motor shaft adapter is what goes into "B" correct?) ive never put an edf unit together.

its not just off center but at a freakn angle as the back holes look pretty good

Does that include the metal washer on the back and front side or is ALL metal removed and just the blades are weighed? Mine was around 47g with the washers still on. My guess is I have the v1

i ran up the fan on a 4s and im really shocked how nice these units sound in person.

btw i dint realise that the motor shaft wasnt required. thankfully i was able to use the "slightly off centered" adapter. i will begin balancing tomorrow.

my fault. i ment the motor shaft adapter that was supplied with the flyfly 1500kv outrunner wasn't required. sorry for that.

i have a question. i need to extend the esc wires. does it matter which wires? 3 wires or pos & neg wires?

im reading alot of modelers extend the motor wires from the esc using same gauge size or larger. if extending batt wires from the esc you must add caps. does this sound right?

The aluminum washers front and back are weighed but not the adapter or spinner.
Sounds like you have old stock at 47g.
