24 total flights now. I've flown this plane more than any other I own. I just love this fan, so far...

Washab didn't say what 1500kv motor he was using. If it was the flyfly 1500kv like mine then his #s are right on point beside the volts. If it was the HK3025 1500kv motor them something may be off.

Imma run my #s again when I get home to just make sure.

True. And come to think of it I recall someone posting earlier that the kv of the HK3025 was not as per spec. I might re-run my test again to be sure but I'm certain my numbers were right

I have measured Kv on the 3025 with Kv meter, and I got 1480. Spot on I would say, but I do remember erh7771 saying something about ~1700Kv but not sure if he measured it himself...

Test numbers with 5 cells 4400 nanotec 65-130C was 19 V, 83 A, ~1550 W and 2,45 Kg thrust..
Have not ben up in the air yet...

on 6s I get watt numbers closer to an arc 37-75-1 on the 3025...

V8, yes the flyfly 1500kv motor. Don't know if you remember but you advised on that motor/setup. And sorry for the typo on the volts reading. As I don't want to give incorrect numbers I'll run-up again for voltage reading.

**Battery packs are new, but again it was just slightly under full charge. Thanks to all for the input

Also on that airframe you don't need to pushing 2000w+ and 90a+ you may find she is fast enough and has enough thrust with that setup.
V8,
Good stuff...not looking for speed as an over all result. Just love that woosh I heard on your vid. The voltage reading was a typo, will run up again and repost exact voltage. Thanks for sharing your setup.

BTW, bench test this thing running smooth as silk. Fan didn't need very much balancing. Spare one I ordered (at the same time) is way out of balance. These are from HK, recent purchase.

Washab,

If that the case and she's running smooth your good to go.

You can't say 'something is wrong' if you got 103A on a 3025-1500kv and someone else got 84A. In this case you get 103A, I get 84A.
That is because you quoted a Nano battery (lower IR) and I quoted a Zippy... but so did Washab (Turnigy.. same basically).
Thus why he is getting 80A area. (plus not fully charged - so I expect he will see more like 85A are when fully charged))
That is how much difference in result you can get across batteries.... or rather C really. (Two parallel 30C Zippy's will match, or beat, a 65C Nano for eg).

Two 1500kv motors of any brand, but same 'size' approx, will give the same results and use the same current - from the same battery that is. Within a reasonably narrow range of tolerances. So the FlyFly 1500kv must be quite similar to the 3025-1500kv, in both their capability when used in a CS12.
Though I bet if used identically that the 3025 would die sooner, as it is not really likely to be a true match for the FlyFly size/construction.

Two parallel 30c zippy will never match a 65c of the same capacity

My setup was for 8s in my l-39 which is becoming very heavy (81lb 10 ounces) it draws 105 amps at wot and flying times are 3 mins the power is awesome. Any way out of daftness i tried running it up on 6s and was suprised at the results. 2 6s 3300 65-130c batts in parallel balance the model ok which then become a 6s 6600 mah batt. the watts were 1750 and amps were 73 . held fuse vertical which weighed 6 1lb 12 oz and it is just on hover. But the main thing is i can get wot for 4 mins leaving 20% in batts. That will translate to a 5 min flight, so i am going to fly it tomorrow, hope it has enough power. The point here is the het 1400kv may be a good 6s option for duration and sound

here it is on 8s

I ran a pair of Zippy 6S 5800mAH 30C's against a Nano 6S 5000mAH 65C... and they give the same results. Almost identical. And one Zippy alone is only down 7% power, so the Nano was a big waste of money for what it gained. Though I expect it would maintain its power level better. But at pretty well double the cost, it is non-linear return.
Though that was a 1400kv.... so I have to test at 1500kv and 1600kv to see what any spread might go out to. Of course the solo Zippy will fall further behind, but the dual for tests will hold their own fine I am sure.

Have bought zippy 5800 6s 30c and yes they are pretty good new BUT they don't last. I always run a battery monitor to prevent over discharging yet one of my packs began failing after 6 flights (had a weak cell) all my other 3 started failing within a dozen flights with weak cells. My nano tech 45to90c seem to be holding together as are my Gens ace 25c.
I did ruin some nano tech batteries in the past by keeping them fully charged for long periods but now store them at 3.8v per cell (storage charge) with much better results.
Cheers
Pardon the thread drift.....

vid of L-39 on 6s up in 1 hour. Had 6 flights today Flies ok but prefer more power Still it flew at wot for 4mins 20% left in lipo still sounds awesome. So i have two options now 3mins on 8s with good power or 4 mins on 6s with average power. model is nearly nine pounds. Time to paint !
