recommend to use the RG178 Coaxial Cable, less 1m. as short as possible. at 433MHZ, Attenuation about 1dB (lenght = 1m).

If by "elements" you refer to the radiating two parts of the dipole, then their lenght should be 16.4cm to be reasonate at around 433Mhz.

HTH

Is anyone here using rangelink and Foxtech goggle head tracker?

I usually use the ppm out on my DX8 but now it will be taken up by the rangelink so I have no idea how I'm going to use it again.

An idea to find out the signal:
foxtech goggle header tracker ,it support futaba radio, right?

the pin6 is a ppm signal out from goggle header tracker.... connect it to the rangelink HTPPM pin, would be ok. also you can powered header tracker from the rangelink HT Port.

u need to do some solder.

So do I need a ground from the headtracker to the rangelink unit? The goggles are already ground via the battery it runs off, and the rangelink will be ground by its own battery too.

Sid, I am just unclear of the ppm signal from the goggles to the RL TX. Is it just the single wire of ppm or does it need a ground also coming from the goggle to the RL?

The DX8 uses the ppm port and channels 5 and 6 for headtrack.
