Thanks.
It was very easy to solder actually. Put the iron to about 400 Celsius, but did NOT heat for long time. Finished in a minute.
For preventatively, I would think it will be better to secure it like this if it is soldered properly.

I've done that on all my RL Rxs as well. DL had the same problem, and I believe they
now come soldered. Do have to be careful not to overheat it.
Haven't noticed any range reduction, as suggested above. My micro-power range
checks are usually 20-30 paces which seems to be on the upper end of what
a lot of people are reporting.

Well it looks like my hk 5.8g 200mw video link is failing me, or it doesnt like nova osd. The nice thing is that it didnt effect my rangelink range. I have a feeling that it is not the best band to go with for long range anyways.

In any case, can any one suggest a good video tx rx that will not reduce my range with rangelink?

Something from hobbywireless.com would be good, because they are not too far away.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Anything in 1.2G should work, but RMRC scared me away from Lawmate: http://hobbywireless.com/index.php?m...ex&cPath=88_90

I'm probably going with these:
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1020
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=922

Haven't pulled the trigger yet and almost everyone here should know more than I do...

You don't need a 1000mW Vtx. The RMRC 800 Tx (actually puts out about 600mW
on 12V at 1280Mhz) will give you 2-3 miles on CP omnis and easy 6-7 miles with 8-10db
Of gain on the Rx, and much much further with other higher gain antennas. 1000mW and
up is just asking for more trouble onboard the plane, and spews its signal miles
around interfering with other FPV pilots.

Yees, same as with my old chainlink!
I sent it to Sid and he said:..."chainlink tx fault rf module, rf module fixed. but control borad still has some issue."
Now I'm waiting for the rangelink set....well..

Hi all!
I have a wierd issue with my rangelink. I have a readymaderc 1.3GHz vtx on my airplane and if I put my hand between the vtx's antenna and the rangelink rx antenna my servos start to jitter. The jitter is exaggerated when choosing certain channels on the vtx and other channels it completely dissapears. Why is it like this? Escecially since I shield the two antennas with my hand, and I'm not touching the antenna either. And it only happens when I have my hand close to the vtx antenna. Thanks in advance.

It's probably the servos themselves. Try twisting the servo leads (pull the pins
from their plugs, peel the three wire apart, twist back together, and and reinsert
the pins into their plugs). Otherwise, replace with better servos.

Thanks. Yeah it's probably the servos. I'm relocating my vtx to the tail to see if that helps. And check the servos ofcourse

Boy oh boy I can't wait to hook this puppy up. I ordered the rangelink 10 days ago with some extras, then realized that I might prefer the longer antenna on the bixler, so I placed an additional order and paid the shipping twice. My fault but was contacted after I messaged that the orders could just been boxed together and was responded to in this email. "I see you have paid for shipping twice, I will package them togehter and upgrade the shipping to ems... Arrived quickly and safely, items packaged very well, 1/2 way hooked up, taking my time not to leave any T's uncrossed. Awesome service and product so far... Cheers

My rangelink was working fine the other day, now I it seems completely dead... Here's the situation:

I added a couple of servo extensions to get the rx unit in the back of my super sky surfer, plugged up everything else, and the motor twitched, as did other servos, so i powered it off. Ever since then, it will not move anything. I rebound, and still have the solid LED on the rx, but i get no movement when i power the servos, and I dont hear the ESC startup. That all makes me think it is not making any connection. Funny thing is that everything seemed to work ok until i added servo wire extensions to the mix.

Any ideas?

Could be a problem for RL too...

8FG users, any problem to report?

Yes, I'm sure it affects RL and all other UHF systems. They generally all allow
for different length PPM frames, but whatever that length is, must not change.
It's a fairly common glitch on 12ch PPM frame when you try to cram them
into the same length as an 8ch frame, but zero excuse for it to happen on the 8ch frame
itself.
