6"?? I think that is a 1/4 wave. Look for a 35cm antenna.

I was looking at antennas too and found a few that might work.

This one would be good for flying inside my car during the winter:

Thanks Vantasstic .
Planning to use metal gears on the tail surfaces and thought the metal ones might stuff around with the signal.
So this but with the antenna inside the tail itself should be ok ??

Cheers

Alright. After completely swapping out my DL setup (new rx, new tx), I've determined my turnstyle UHF antenna is giving me fits. 17% rssi at 2 miles if I hold my tx one way. rotate 45 to the right or left, it changes as much as 50%. Think I'm gonna go back to the old school dipole.

I have flown out 15km with almost that exact arrangement and my RSSI was still at ~30% with the Tx antenna 3 feet off the ground. Should work well but as usual, test carefully, every RF environment is unique.

@roypwee,

I'm using a Futaba 10CHP with the DL Tx connected via a stripped out module, no problem whatsoever.

Coz I am having very odd beeping from my 10CAP and servos are jittery with the TSLRS. which is hooked up behind my 10CAP.

Planning to get a brand new shiny DL, as long as it does not give me such issues and most importantly reduced failsafe.

Cheers.

Graupner 40 MHz SSM E8

It is a 40 MHz SSM E8 System. It has neither a trainer port nor a HF module.
As you can see here:

I know it is a very sentimental thing to keep this old thing running but it would be so cool to make a modern very long range system out of it. I can not throw it a away
Is there no one who can help me with my RC? Or is it already solved somewhere else? Search didn't help me so far.

Mate, your gonna need an Osciliscope to find the ppm stream among the RF module.

Regards
