I need some help with the binding. I got a new RX (newest version), and Im using the old TX with the latest firmware.

I push the button as the turn the TX on, green light starts blinking, let it go and power up the RX. All light briefly turn on, then just the 'power' light stays lit. All others are off. It wont link. Any ideas? I tried the calibration procedure with no luck.

Hi Everyone,

As a thank you for our early supporters, I am doing free firmware upgrades for all Version 1 Dragon Link systems. This is a Very nice upgrade, and will make your Version 1 Dragon Link system better than ever !! Some of the improvements you will see are:

Compatibility to fly without interference together with all - multiple UHF RC systems.
Much better resistance to interference from other sources such as flying in the city.
New features and even more reliable, trouble free operation.
Compatiblity with ALL new Version 2 Dragon Link equipment !!!

To get your free firmware upgrade, you must follow these simple instructions:

1. Send me ALL your Dragon Link Transmitters and Receivers ( Do NOT send your RC transmitter, Dragon Link antennas, or anything else ).

2. Put a NOTE inside the box with your full name and return address. Also let me know if you are having any problems with your system so that I can fix any issues.

3. Send me Return shipping cost to dragonlinklabs@hotmail.com via Paypal. Cost for return shipping will be 10 dollars to the USA. 25 Dollars Tracked International.

4. Send your System to:

Michael Bigelow
100 Giardino Drive
Islamorada, FL 33036
USA

Send the return shipping cost via PayPal to DragonLinkLabs@hotmail.com Systems with the shipping costs not paid will be held hostage and maybe even given away in the next contest

IMPORTANT NOTE - TRANSMITTER CHANGES

NOTE: When you receive your system back, your transmitter will operate differently, and the LED indications will be different. When you hold down the button and power on the system, you will be able to enter the following modes by releasing your button at different times. Here is the list, holding the button down durring power up and then releasing at:

2 - 7 Seconds: Micro Power Range test mode, LED will turn RED, and flash RED once button is released.

7 - 12 Seconds: Binding Mode, LED will turn GREEN, and flash GREEN once button is released.

12 - 17 Seconds: Calibration mode, LED will turn RED, and Flash RED and GREN once button is released.

17 Seconds or More: ID Change Mode, LED will turn OFF, And stay off once button is released.

NOTE: If you do not see the correct LED indication, you are not in the mode you want, try again !

You will need to do the following with EACH of your receivers in the order listed:

1. CALIBRATION:

You will also need to calibrte EACH receiver for 15 minutes by installing the jumper across the signal pins of channels 5 and 6, THEN powering them on with no antenna for 15 minutes. The tranmistter should be continuously running in the Calibration mode for this process with its antenna attached. The transmitter should be about 2 meters away from the receiver, no need to measure, just do not have it right against the RX for this process.

2. BIND:

Rebind ALL receivers to your transmitter after calibration. It is importnat to rebind each time the RC transmitter you are using is changed to a different one. Your transmitter is different than the one I tested your system with, if you do not rebind, it will not work correctly.

I only recommend against the BEC on the speed controller because many times it is not capable of powering the servos, and will cut out. The Dragon LInk receiver takes only a tiny amount of power, its the servos that you have to worry about. If you have no servos drawing power, then anything would power the Dragon LInk RC itself.
