That motor looks good if you can get the weight down below 35g. That is 2.3g from 44g or so target. That makes it 40.5g. Which one cell are you using? 160? That is 4.1g or so. That makes it 35-36g bird. Wow!

Anyone know what the BEC is on the AR6400LBL? if it is 5v, there should only be a marginal speed drop in the servos.

I too would like to know how that motor performs on what weight airframe.

I was running 120's and 160's on mine.

No idea about the BEC voltage.

Its about 1-1/2" back from the LE at the center of the wing, This is also aprox the center of the milled X's on the wing. Be sure to post some pics

Thanks
Chris

Got mine a week ago today. Finished the build last Thursday. Today was my first decent chance to maiden. I did it outside with a slight breeze but with gusts to 10 or so.

I decided to take it to work and fly in our banquet hall. No wind! I trimmed her out on low rates and then hit high rates to have some fun! Flies great, Chris! Tight loops, knife edges, aileron rolls. I, unfortunately, had to quit early and head home. The female battery plug on my AR6400 broke. One of the wires. Oh well.

I built it with the gear on but decided to remove it for weight savings and the floor is carpet so the wire skids didn't do any good.

I finished my 18" Yak and was able to maiden her on Friday night at our indoor fly and was quite pleased. Now we fly on a small basketball court with only about 6 feet of extra space on the sides and around 20 foot ceiling height. I was a little concerned at first because my model came out 32 grams without battery but was soon relieved to to find that this plane flys just fantastic even at a little heavy. It has an excellent speed envelope and is quite agile with out being touchy the only place you see the extra weight is in a pure prop hang hover other than that as soon as you are even slightly moving forward it feels way light with no tendency to drop a wing at all. I built it with Pacer 560 glue which is probably where the extra weight showed up.I like this stuff because it does not harden the foam and remains flexable. I'll get some pics up soon I could not be more pleased I am going to try a GWS 5x3 prop this Friday over the stock 4-Site 130x70.Yogi

Any chance this plane could be picked up as a BNF unit for under $200.00?
