RE: Battery Tracking

I have 18 Gens Ace 2S 450's and 10 Sky Lipo 2S 350's for my 32" or so planes.

I have them numbered from 1 thru 18 and run them in that order.

Since these batteries are so cheap, I do not track or log charging info.

For my larger more expensive packs, I track them using a small spiral notebook.

I would lose my paper or notebook i use to log my flights sooo fast. It'll take a little longer for me to lose my phone

Both of them have had multiple crashes on them so I figured a twisted edge set up to really low rates may help him out. I'm probably going to set his high rates as the twisted low rates and low rates for him 1/2 of twisted low rates. I'm some what tempted to give him max deflection on the elevator though as he could use it as a bail out switch but I don't want him to get used to it.


But yeah this puddgy little airplane is just a marshmellow in the sky compared to the yak.

That's my Xmas present as well! My daughter asked what plane I wanted, since I have the cy and sbach I wanted to round out the collection with the 540.

Keep it below about 10 amps, no matter the cell count, and you should be fine.

So on 2S, 74 watts.

On 3S, 110 watts.

That means that for the most performance and reliability, you should be running a 8x4.3 on 3S or a 9x4.7 on 2S.

I have it propped at 7X6, I guess I could go a little more then.

Well, I finally decided to give 3s a try on my slick and pitts.... so I started looking around and go figure... EVERYWHERE i have checked is out of 3S lipos in the 450-500mah range... you boys must be stocking up for Christmas, aren't you? lol... I can understand if all the 250mah's were sold out... but gheez.... lol.

Twisted Hobbys is stocked, I love these packs, they are the only ones that have held up through the last year.

You are correct, and I have some of their 2s lipos and have been VERY please with them. I forgot to mention, I'm cheap. I was hoping to find some Sky or Gens Ace for around the $5 mark.... Not that I have anything against the Twisted batteries, and perhaps they are a better quality, but none the less, if I can get 10 packs for $50 as opposed to 3, I'll go with the cheap stuff almost every time.

Quick question to anyone reading this. The discharge rating on a battery is that the constant or the burst rating? Like 25c discharge rate... Is that the burst or the constant?

Packs are usually rated as follows:

examples - 25C/50C or 25C/40C or 20C/40C or...

The first number is the constant rating and the second is the maximum burst rating.

Note the burst rating is often twice the constant rating but not always.
