let me up this thread with my experience : if you are interested in video form a multirotor, stay away from Panasonic ZS20/TZ30 . It is almost impossible to cure jello, and optical image stabilization can't be disabled in video mode ( only in foto mode..) and worst of all ,it really interferes with yaw commands, so no matter how smooth you try to be, any yaw movement will come out jittery because image stabilizer is trying to compensate..
It is a shame.. it had 1080P50, good quality image wise, you could set focus at recording start so no focus hunting, and you have exposure +- compensation.. 24mm wide lens.. 208g
Now the search is on again for a compact with 1080P25 and some manual control.. LX7 seems interesting, but if it has the same lens functionality i am afraid it will have same jello problems. My machines are quite vibration free, i can use gopro @ 1080 with absolutely no jello.. i just want something a bit better than gopro .

FWIW, I've been happy with the aerial images taken from a Nikon V1. I'm using the 10-30mm lens and the camera's Vibration Reduction setting set to "Active." It has an interval timer, so no remote shutter actuator is necessary. It also shoots video @ 1080/60i, 1080/30p, & 720/60p.

Thanks for the update guys. Yes, it can get tricky. The interval timer on the V1 would be useful. Those shots from it look good to me. Re Panasonic, I have a TZ7, which I like for ground video, due to that great lens, but never tried it on the multi. As new technology comes out, there seem to be more options for fast frame-rate video in light camera bodies. 720 60p is more than adequate for what I do. I have a gopro 1 and a crocolis HD extreme cam for video. I just put up with the bendy horizons and try to keep level.

Looking forward to the new Sony action cam with 120 fps, in the meantime, here is a sunset shot taken with my stealth from my Dji tonight.

Seems the Sony range, Nex and the newer RX100 are good options for both video and stills. Each has small quirks, such as a lower quality wide angle pancake add on lens for the Nex, and the video out on the RX100 is in a strange location (and no remote trigger options) however, people make these work just fine and get excellent image and video from both. I personally like the Canons, due to CHDK trigger (no servos involved etc) but they have yet to come out with a larger sensor over 10-12 mp in a small compact. The Canon s100 is not as good as the older s95 in my opinion. But that will change in the next round of Canon's I'd expect. I like the s95 that much (for stills only) that today I purchased a second one - they are going used cheap nowdays! The video on the Canons thus far fall behind the Sony re 1080p and 50/60 fps etc. Will Canon match these specs? Who knows, but surely it is only a matter of time

I use a Sony Nex 5n with a GentLED remote trigger Infrared LED - works great. I can trigger a still photo or start video recording all with a flick of my transmitter switch.

Yes, good option. The Canon s95-s100 are a little problematic with video out if u want to use CHDK as well. It is possible, but just needs some mods or buying a few items pretty much off the shelf if you know where to look. I just use it with a small FPV cam for 'live' video. Works well enough for my needs.

Cool. Does the Sony Wifi give you live feedback so you can basically fly FPV with it, or for camera aiming? Does it take stills? I see mention of a time lapse, which wouldn't make sense with a video... or is it just REALLY slow frame rate video?

Now, the video you posted, the details are a bit mushy. Looks like lots of compression, and the pans are quite juddery. Is this just Youtube compression?

Have you guys seen the new GoPro Hero 3 - it's only 2.5oz and can shoot 1080p @ 60fps. 720p at 120fps! Only question now is, does it still have the live video out for us FPV'ers?
