Question
Using rc airplane controller as sim joystick

Is it possible to take my futaba skyport 4 (6-pin din) and turn it into a controller for a simulator like realflight g5.5. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

You don't need to "turn it into", you can just use the supplied cable to connect it to the Realflight controller.

Note that Realflight will not work without its own controlled plugged in (it forms the copy protect mechanism), so you can't substitute a transmitter for the controller, but you can feed it through the controller.

However, since your transmitter is really no better than the regular Realflight controller, and in fact lacks the extra channels on the controller, I don't see what the point would be.

You could use the transmitter with other simulators, but will probably need a suitable cable to connect to USB on the computer. The first thing to do is to decide which sim you want to buy.

Yes, that dongle convert the ppm pulse train coming out of the trainer jack to a signal compatible with the USB port of any computer. There is a forum on RCG dedicated to Sim with more expertise on the subject:

What do they mean by:
Compatible with RealFlight G4.5. Includes driver software.

Have they broken the RealFlight copy protection? Note that 4.5 is an old version.
