The link is needed to transfer the flybar movements to the blades, it is critical to have and it must move freely on the ball.

Beginners (including myself until not too long ago) often replace that link with an o-ring of appropriate size twisted like an "8", or with a variation of the same idea. I am trying to locate some pictures I posted a long time ago.....

Thanks, although I didn't really get the idea of how to do it, and where to get these parts...
I think im just gonna wait for the spare parts (and buy some more i guess), but interesting to know about the linkages!

The o-rings are gaskets commonly available in places where plumbing supplies are sold, nothing special.

The simplest way to install them is to remove the flybar paddles, slip the o-rings on the flybar, and put the paddles back on the flybar.

Although I don't normally condone counterfeit Esky components, there are plenty of fake " ring likes " on eBay which have proved much more robust than the original Esky ones.
In fact, i've yet to break one, yet I broke several originals.
An eBay search for " Esky 000188 or ek1-0201 " will reap a few Hong Kong counterfeits.
