2011-2012 Season-Who's Flying What?
This season I think some Big numbers will happen with all the DS'ing planes availible. So I thought I'd start a thread to see who will be flying what this DS'ing season.
It seems there are several new planes availible to fly including some new molded planks.
Wizzard Compact DSX
2 M Extreme
WOW how cool is it that we have so many planes to choose from now a day's
I will be flying my Thundertaker, molded D-80,bagged D-80,Compact DSX & my Pokey 40. my new favorite DS acro plank.
So what is everyone else flying this season?

Typical progression for me:
light winds - start off with single carbon Wizard. Pull the plug on that at about 150 mph.
light wind alternate - old 2M Extreme. Single joiner version good for maybe 200 mph.
medium winds - Opus MCT or single joiner Wizard DS.
high winds - work my way up through D80 with no tip ballast, D80 with tip ballast, Wizard DSX, Kinetic 100.

2012 Season Planes
D 130 is my heavy metal for this season. Everyone who has flown it to my knowledge has gone well over 400 mph.
ThunderTaker is going to be a great contender, but it is a rare and precious plane. Its hard to push planes that are not replaceable. But it is irresistable, and it is one fine plane to fly.
D 80 is also my main heavy plane, but without the balast is also the mid speed plane. It will be the main contender for this season, as everyone already has one or can easily obtain one. It is so much more meaningful to fly planes that everyone has access to. Reference numbers mean something. This will be my main fly all the time plane. Four hundred mph is for the taking. Just bring the wind, and we will see several 400plus speeds this season.
D 60 is one sweet plane. All around well performer, and possibly will be seen in the high 300s this year.
Viper 60 which has had some repair work done on it, but it still flies well. Nice plane. With flaps. Probably faster than the Blast.
Compact for acro. An amazing, good handling plane. I have an old BPV with rudder choices. Hinged and servo'd or molded ridgid.
Espadita for light acro. Its light, but has an airfoil that always brings it back.
JW 60 in perfect shape, ready for some speed or fun.
Wasabe What a surprise, it Dses. Makes a funny whistling sound with high aileron rates, goes inverted as well as regular. So its a lot of fun.
So thats what i have to fly. And its going to be a great year for flying.
