Hi just got me a hanger 9 sopwith Camel,but the only thing i don't take a fancy to is the ultra glossy olive drab covering,is there a method of dulling this down?
I was thinking along the lines of rubbing it with steel wool but thought that i would ask here first to see if there was any sure way of achieving a matte finish.

There are various matt or flat clear paints available in aerosol cans that would work, but you will have to test them to make sure they are fuel proof if useing nitro fuel....Gene

That was an option.I have used the topflite aerosol before and its good stuff and fuel proof.

Could try a Scotch-Brite, which would be a little less fierce than using wire wool. Comes in two grades, red which is equivalent to 600 wet/dry sand paper, or grey which is finer and equivalent to 1000: http://www.thecustompaintshop.com/in...product_id=982

If it dosn't work, atleast it will be a good key for a matt clear coat
