Krashem... It seems odd that we have these reports of hub failures on these 1700mm planes, but yours seems to be complete even after losing all the prop blades. Is it cracked anywhere? I hate when a tree reaches up and grabs a plane

Yes they are lovely cmk-2, and unfortunately that was not my first attempt at trying to to mow one down.

Chainsaw time!

Looks like balsa airplanes are not the only ones magnetically attracted to trees!

wbf2, I do not see any evidence of a crack in the hub and the props did not break off because of the tree, after I passes through the tree the plane was stalled but I was trying to fly it out, that is how it landed flat. I did not touch the throttle which I should have tried but there was too much going on for me to think of that. My Bad! The throttle was around 5/8 open and the reason I know none broke off in the tree is because there was no vibration after I hit the tree and there is a small pond after the trees and the plane and 4 blades were on the opposite side. Here a couple of pics, don't know if it helps any.

What is that last picture? The broken edges of the blades? It sure looks ugly, burned almost.

Yes,I do not know what the inside of the blades should look like but I did notice what looks like bubbles in the mixture. Of course I would not expect them to survive that impact.

Yep I know that look well. I don't know enough about prop material to comment on if the quality is poor, or if the bubbles are a negative indication but it seems like the props could be more durable under stress.

Adding sound these days is like how it was a few years ago when retracts and flaps became standard on most foam warbirds. It just takes the whole experience to a new level. It will be ridiculous the quality, options and ubiquitous nature of these sound systems in most RC electric warbirds in the coming years. Just like the quality of the retracts have improved progressively over the past few years, so will these sound systems.

I've been saying it for years. We're living in exciting times these days with RC electric warbirds!

krashem - I think the FMS blades are made from ABS plastic. Not sure about the look of yours as mine are always clean when they break. No bubbles.
