Interesting that you were able to secure a new one , I wonder if they are shipping V2 out of state ?
They were kind enought to answer my email on the 1700 P51 and confirmed V2 |

Dear FMS-
I love your foam 1700 Corsair. Keep it up. But I have to be honest. I have been dreaming about the museum scale CARF F4U-1D Corsair with a delicious tenacity I cannot explain. Forgive me. Sincerely, Aros ![]()

Agree that is the dream machine . I got to see the kit being build at GYro hobbies in southern Cal when visiting about a year ago .
Total "man cave" machine , very cool . I was hoping that until I can afford one that LX models would consider doing a 79 " version like there P40 release . You figure they did a good job with the 79" P40 , the retracts work and the plane flys great , so there 80% there So Dear Mr LX , I love the 2000mm P40 , so can you release a Corsair

I too would be afraid to fly the CARF...It's one thing to bury a $400 foam Corsair into the dirt, but a $3,000 composite?
![]() Then again, if I could afford a $3,000 composite Corsair without the wife killing me, I could afford to crash it. ![]() Truth is, I do have an RC model that is worth $3,500. It's a 1:8 scale Unlimited 1982 Pay N Pak hydroplane built from scratch museum quality. In fact, it's on display at the Hydroplane Museum in Kent, WA. It's only seen the water once and I was afraid to continue running it out of fear of crashing it. I would however be willing to sell it to fund something like the CARF Corsair though. Finding someone willing to pay what it's worth is another story however... As for a 80" LX version, I would buy one in a heartbeat, even with the LX issues from their current one. Assuming the guts would be similar, I would buy the kit and put superior components in it. Brand X, good to see you got yours! Glad the damage was minimal and in a location you won't even see once she's put together. |

http://www.castlecreations.com/products/talon.html FMS supplies an 85 amp. It's a bit cheaper than the 100 amp ice, and has a built in 20A BEC. |
