So who has the skinny on various motor combos. From the hackers to the HK cheap ones. Most of this stuff I can figure out but the motor is always the question. On the video Ben mentions one that isn't on the 3DHS website(the 20m I think). Looks like the a2020l is the hot setup. Something I really don't need. Guess I need to scan HK for a motor in the 42g size, 1100kv and ok for 3s. But the 34s is 30g and 1500kv? Ug...motors!!

Thanks for the help.

Looks like I won't get one together before octoberfest.

Wow. I have been building these since the slofly days which was that long ago. And after watching Joes video I have to say that Slick is sick. High alpha is beautiful. He got the wing area and weigh perfect. My builds which tend to float then drop a wing and not want to stall. Great job Andrew. About the amount of carbon. It really needs that much. At that size the fuse will twist with just tail feather throw.

I've found the Suppo A2212/13 1000KV with a 18A-20A ESC to be good for this size/weight of plane. Ben is running a 2212 in the sneak peek vid. I run it with a 1060HD or 1047SF prop on 3S with mixed throttle. You can run a 9050HD or 9047SF as well if you run a lot of wot. I can get it to you in 2-4 business days with $2 shipping. Not sure if this will help you get to octoberfest..

Yep this week no way to get it before Thursday, shucks, needed one more week. Looks like what I'm looking for though. Do they make a prop adapter or will the prop savers hold up ok?

Edit...see the prop adapter link!

Edit Edit....ordered!

The prop saver actually works well on this motor. I highly recommend using Latex Prop bands, we include 5 of them with the motor as well.

Will the HS-65HB servos work in this plane? I have 4 of them sitting around and have been thinking about buying one of these to go along with my 34'' EPP edge.

Will do, actually going to try the Torque first but an easy change out since the X mount is the same and the connectors are the same. Got the bottom half done last night, Got to work on my servos now.

Nice flat glass table top works real nice to keep it flat.

Wow!

Put four flights on this guy today. I must say that it is a nice foamy to have in the hangar. The Slick flies really nice! KE spins are sweet with it!
It will hover almost on it's own. Rollers are almost like giant scale plane.
I had a huge smile on my face and was a blast to fly. Harrier's were sweet!
Big thumb's up the 3DHS, and Andrew for making another great plane to own.
This all took place in the front yard. I'll have to take it to the school yard.

Flight time was set at 6 minutes, and I still have 50% left in my pack!
Only using a 1000mah 3 cell Genace. I'll do some more testing.

Does anyone know when these will be back in stock?

I am currently flying the 3dhs epp edge and love it. But I would like a plane for more breezy days. Can someone p,ease recomend a power system for not-so-calm days?

Thanks!
