I am using the Geans Ace 1300 and put the pack behind landing gear and in front of the first wing support. If i wanted to move the CG any foward I will shorten up linkage in the alileron. Rite now it seem good.

I havent added any trim but I broke my last prop and LHS don't have any more. I'll let you know after I get a few more flights on her. Good luck and Happy New Year

I got through another 3 battery`s (and another prop lol) today, and my cg seems better now.. It`s falling just alittle on inverted now, so it`s much better to fly. Still kinda twitchy in hover, but its getting there.

But i feel it couples _alot_ in KE circles.. but i might be expecting to much of it

I have a question if someone could take a minute to help please. I'm at the point in the build where you attach the rudder. Mine is a lot thinner than the thickness of the fuse. If I shift it the the edge like the build shows I will have a big gap on one side. Am I missing something simple?

center the rudder stab on the fuse..... mount it using foam safe CA

then make a fillet with welders on both sides

I did this just like the instructions, micro checked it and it dog walked all over. Rudder trimmed several degrees to get it to track straight. Something was off but you couldn't spot where. Finally cut it off and just lined it up to the left side all the way down, new plane! Still wonder why the rudder isn't the same thickness as the fuse, but mine flys straight now.

Just double, triple, check.

No, do not use foam safe CA, use regular CA. Foam safe CA will be weak. Read the instructions from the beginning. They state use regular CA.

Regarding thr rudder installation, I chose to mount mine to the top half of the fuse before I glued the top fuse on. This made it easier to get centered and handle while gluing.

I really like how this plane flies. It harriers well, hovers nicely, floats in high alpha knife edge and makes for a great 3D trainer. The only thing I have a problem with is it rolls out of tight outside loops. Im using a 2215 900kv motor from HK spinning a 10x4.7 prop which is equivalent in specs and weight as the hacker 20-20L (70g). With a 1300mah pack weighing 110g it will fly upright and inverted hands off at half throttle with the pack about 1/2" behind the landing gear legs. I have some 97g 1000mah nano-tech packs coming that should balance well up right up against the gear legs. I shaved over 18g using Futaba S3114 servos instead of HS-65MGs and am using an AXI prop saver instead of a collet which shaves another 7g (and has already saved the prop from a few unscheduled inverted landings), this makes my dry weight 12.67oz. Even though the plane's AUW is over 16.5 oz I'm still getting aggressive 3D flights of 7 minutes and only using .7A (about 50% capacity of the 1300s).

Hey JSmith, was curious to find out how well you felt rudder held on this model. Just got my epp slick in the mail today and was thinking of doing the Pull-pull rudder mod that AJ shows on his HPP Vid volume 1. What do you think.
