Flew the first few flights on my XL tonight at our first indoor fly-in. I'm impressed. The XL behaves like a larger version of the original McFoamy. Of course, I guess that should be the case . The XL is definately much more stable in the high alpha and hovering versus the original McFoamy and I would expect such. I found that a CG of 9" from the XL's nose worked best for me. One thing that took me a couple of flights to get accustomed to is the power and throttle response of the Hacker A20-26M motor . This is noticable in the hover if you don't manage your left hand very well. When applying throttle in the hover, just a very small blip is needed. Anything more and the XL would want to climb out of the hover. Anyway, I had a ball flying the XL and I wish I had some video, but forgot my video camera. I'll try to get some video next weekend. However, I did take a few photos from several angles. Perhaps, this may help you guys who are in the build process.

I really like that color scheme, though I do wonder if there's too much white on the bottom.

Looks very nice! So when you were talking about the throttle, are you saying when you pull out of a hover it will shoot up fast?

Nice pictures, looks like you did a great job on the build. Post a video if you remember the video camera next time.

Yes, the Hacker motor pulls the XL out of a hover very quickly.

No prob, I'll also do a lot of belly in hovering to flash the logo.

I posted earlier that I was trying a 3s 1550mah battery, for me, this is too heavy. As my earlier post said, I would go with 3s 750mah-1000mah.

Also, I still am flying with some right thrust, this is going well and plan to leave the right thrust there.

Just got my xl and everything looks really good. Let me start with my first stupid question. How do you mount the suppo motor to the stick mount. Does the circular plastic piece take place of the x mount. So you just bolt the plastic circular thing to the back of the motor.

You got it ... The prototype had the back side of the black disk countersunk to match the angle of the mounting screws. Put a drop of removable locktite on the screws and snug them down.

Enjoy the build.
