I like the 72 cool plane. I have been taking it easy ordering new planes this year but this size foamie drew me in. Still can fly in the yard and will handle some wind. I can't wait for this one. On average how long does it take to paint and ship out the xl to customers.

Generally they take about a week to ship. Yours should ship out on this up coming Monday or Tuesday.

That should work out fine. The main thing with the rear servo tray is that your servo cutouts and SCREWS miss the wing spar. Resting all the way against the tab will give you plenty of room. When I update the cut file I will cut in these servo locations and relieve the top fuse 1/32 as well as cut in all the slots for the trussing and control horns. I have this done on the yak and the MX2 and it speeds up the build immensely.

I see Greg covered for me, sorry I did not get back to you. I do not remember how close I was, but what you are saying sounds about right, as Greg said. My XL balances great with the battery (3s 800mah) roughly 1 1/2"-2" back from the nose of the plane.

So, which control surface hole are you guys using. I'm assuming the lowest hole...nearest the control surface? Also, I'm using the HTX900 servos and planned on using the stock servo arms. Will these arms provide enough throw?

Did you get the wooden control horns? If so, I used the upper hole, farthert from the control surface. I do not remember how long the control horns are on the 9 grams, but you should be fine.

Start 8"-9" from the front of the foam nose for CG, then you can move the battery around form there to get it to where you are comfortable with it.
