Bullittjeff are you still getting any flight time on your XL?

Yes she's going to the indoor fly we have on Saturday. Also alot of flights in the back yard when the weather allows.

Here are a few pics of Tristen taking the McFoamy XL Plug N Play out for a spin. This plane sold about a half hour after these flights.

Curious... Did u come up with a landing gear kit for this plane yet? Anybody come up with there own yet?

We did see one guy there who had landing gear on his Mcfoamy. What some people do around here is get two carbon fiber rods and have them swept back. This works preatty well in the gym, but I have not tried it on the assphalt.

This plane is so easy to build it will almost build itself.

Seriously it should go quite fast. I also agree with TMAC4123 that the XL flies amazing. Definitely the way to go for outdoor flying.

Did a short maiden test hop in the backyard right before it got dark tonight. Flew steady except for needing lots of up elevator and yawing to the right. Had a hard landing, knocked the battery loose and broke off the chin of the lower nose, nothing a little welders couldn't fix. Noticed the elevator and rudder were about 1/4 inch away from neutral, nose down and right rudder. Brought it back in the warm house and the surfaces returned back to neutral after warming up. I guess the cold temp outside effects the rigging quite a bit, next time I'll let it get cold and readjust before flying. Anybody else experience this when out in the cold, it was about 28-30 F here this evening.

I agree completely!! This was my first foamy build after years of balsa builds.

Yes epp will contract significantly with colder weather. I always leave my planes Outside for a little bit to acclimate to the temperatures. Then I neutralize everything with the sub trim and fly.

Definently goes together fast.. Very impressed with this kit so far... For being a relative newbie.. the build has been absolutely painless thus far...

Other than adding weight... would there be any negative effects adding a few pieces of CR trussing supporting the upper fuse? Curious on this... thoughts??
