HobbyKing "MoneyShot" 3D Balsa 1350mm ARF

Here it is, lets the discussions begin!

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...350mm_ARF.html

"It has been a long time coming but the Hobbyking Team Itchy Thumbs Moneyshot has been worth the wait, designed with one thing in mind; hardcore 3D!

The build quality is excellent and despite having plenty of wood, the Moneyshot is ultra light. The covering is excellent as is the supplied hardware, which is more than up to the job of handling extreme 3D Maneuovers. The cowl and spats are glassfiber with an excellent finish and the model comes supplied with the correct size spinner. The Moneyshot is as practical as you would expect and features plug in wings and a large canopy which is secured by a proper latch. With this level of pre-fabrication, from a build point of view, the Moneyshot allows you to get it off pretty quickly.

This model is a looker for sure but performance is really what the Moneyshot is about, its pretty big but the combination of the ultra-thick wing and very low wingloading will allow the 3D pilot to let it all hang out in the tightest of spaces. The huge control surfaces will allow you to explore the wildest of aerobatic maneuovers, and with the right set up, the Moneyshot will keep the hardened 3D pilot grinning all day long!"

Length: 1314mm

Looks like a Harrier 3D from Seagull crossed with an E-Flite Eratix. Kind of ugly if you ask me.

So what if it's a "copy" of another plane? Yes, there are tons of similar looking planes out there, but considering how many versions of Extras, Edges and Yaks there are, the concept of sticking to a known design formula isn't exactly new. And to my untrained eye she looks like she would fly OK. I'm sure the CG will be way off like with most cheapo planes, but maybe with a few mods she'll fly OK. Time will tell!

And yes, I ordered one. I realize I'm taking a huge chance on this one, but if it's truly garbage, I'll just buy a 3DHS (such as the 48" Edge) and move the electrics over to it. And for the record: Yes, I ordered it partly because the name and description pleases my juvenile sense of humor...

Probably. We'll see... It's fun to take a crazy chance every once in a while.

actually, nothing like the AddictionX in all the important factors. The AddictionX will soundly have it all over this plane in 3D performance...
