snowgoose 20" Mk II-canard for 6400 rx
snowgoose 20 Mk II. 20"ws, for 6400 brick and similar. 1015 inrunner brushless motor; kenway gear box; gws 6/3; 1 240 cell. 63 gr auw. elevator and ailerons.
1mm foam for upper and lower front of wing, 2 layers for airfoiled fins (see pics); 2mm for rear part of wing, elevators; 3mm for side and horizontal part of fuselage; 5mm for canard; beacon foam tac glue. elevator on canard helps make rolls without falling too much; ailerons are operated directly with the rudder stick. no v tail mix. it has a sukhoi bellcrank for changing the rudder to ailerons.

aerodynamically, the differences are that this 1 has a thicker wing airfoil, with several 'facets' made, instead of 1 on the Mk I (edges bent on the surface of the foam-see pics); the canard is a little bit different in shape (trailing edge); the fins are airfoiled, with 2 pieces of 1mm foam folded around, with facets. both planes use a step, have a flat bottom airfoil on the wing, and symmetrical on the canard.
these facets not only help to form the airfoil easier, but add to the strenght of the skin, and also makes the effect of turbulators that make the airflow stick to the surface and improve its efficiency. read my blog near the end on the subject by the scientist fred schmitz.
