I got one for me and one for my friend Martin today.. Dave was good enough to remember how much I liked the Sultimate and notified me that the Arrows were around, so Martin and I both decided we wanted to give it a go. Looks like an even better flyer than the SUltimate which is hard to beat. Great design Don... I love the paint job... Thanks for taking the time to post build instructions on the thread and I also enjoy the video's.

Well, I was planning to maiden the plane last Saturday but could not get the Castle TB-9 and a cheap 1900 kv motor to cooperate. I swapped the motor and now the plane is ready. I attached a couple of pictures of the setup.

AUW is more or less 150 g with 350 mAh battery. I used some extra 3 x 0.5 mm carbon that was not included in the kit. The ESC has no shrink tubing but I did not lighten the servos or RX nor take out the JST battery connectors.

I could have saved some 5 - 6 g by changing the wiring, stripping the RX and removing servo screws and bottoms. Also the plane could be built some 8 - 10 g lighter by using 1.2 mm carbon for the wing braces, splitting the tail section carbon as Don suggests, lightening the glass fibre HW more and using 1 mm tube instead of solid rods for tail bracing. So some 135 g could be achievable without losing too much of the rigidity.

As you can see, I don't have the side force / vortex generators in place yet. Don, what is the exact positioning of those? I see that they should be approximately where the aileron gets wider but what is the angle vs. fuselage?

1st picture in post 65 has the Arrow V5 Donatas flew at ETOC 2011. SFGs on it are slightly different shape, but they are perpindicular (90 degrees) to the leading edge of the wing and the back end of the SFG is at the point where the aileron counterbalance starts. The Arrow V5 kit I built is next to the ETOC Arrow for comparison of the SFGs.

Hi guys,
yesterday I have flown mine Arrow indoors for the first time - I was invited to some celebration to present RC airplane flying indoors. Quite amazing experience flying plane in two squash courts. No problem for light Arrow! I have it 135grams heavy with 2s240 mAh Hyperion G3 cells or 145g with Dualsky G5 2s 300mAh cells. Fun thing is that light Arrow does everything almost the same (even snap rolls are quite good) as heavier one, but slower. Is is like watching the plane in slow motion

Yes! Take one more receiver with you, so you can fly mine and yours shortly after to compare them! Light Arrow feels really easy to fly, I think it is good choice for less experienced pilots or indoor beginners. And one more thing! Lighter plane hits the ground with less energy, so it won't damage itself so much. I have accidentally tried that...

Hello folks

Just got my kit and I'm building it right now, Very nice package.
Parts fits well and the print is awesome, Smells like it was painted this week, Just a quick question, the SFG:s , should they be mounted at 90 degrees with respect to the LE ?, Hard to tell by the pictures
