I finally finished the GoPro Gimbal Camera Mount, very strong and compact. It uses 3 mini servos and since the GoPro is light weight it doesn't need any gears, servos provide enought travel for most of the applications out there. The servos that I'm using are mini 9grams servos from hobby king. I will have all the specs, prices and pictures available on my website.

After taking this video, I found out that my AA battery pack used for the servos was discharged making the servos jitter

I've built a couple of gimbals like this out of the HK heli gear/camera mount.

You'll notice in the video above that the roll axis stutters as it moves. Likely the pitch as well.

This results in jittery video.

I've seen the high-dollar mounts, belt-drives, etc...

Does anyone have a good link to a lower cost gimbal that uses a different method of motion, especially in the roll axis?

The AA batteries were discharged on that video making the servo jitter more than they suppose to do, I will be taking a new video soon with fresh batteries so you can see the difference.

I designed this pod so the servos dont overload and cause vibrations, taking a video with AA batteries discharged was not the best example but I will post a new one soon. You will see the jittery is reduced a lot.
