Glad to have another Harrier in the making. Are you planning a stock build, or something different?

Thanks man.

Hey Joe, I'm considering fitting 2 x 7.4v 2200mAh 45c burst packs. If I connect these in series, am I right in thinking it will give 14.8v 2200mAh 99A burst? If so, I'm planning on modifying the fan cover so I can install the 2 7.4v packs, one either side of the fan unit. This will bring the c of g into limits without adding any extra weight. Please could you tell me what your elevator and aileron throws are too please?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, I don't know your power system but start with slight more in your control travels. I use some 7-10mm on AIL and 15-18mm on EL should be plenty for lighter model.
Hooking it up in series still gives you the same 45C rating. That makes good sense to place both batt. in regards of CofG, if it is practical for easy installation, just make sure they are well secured in place, good luck with your flight your model came up great and I'll fly mine on 15th as well thinking of you, (weather permitting) Joe., (pics of my full travel)

Hi Joe, thanks for the pictures and the advice on the batteries. I'll go ahead and order the 2 x 7.4v 2200mAh packs. Hobbyking seem to have screwed up my order and sent it to Sweden instead of the UK () so I'm wainting to see if my motor and esc turn up. If they don't, I might have to go and buy them to make the test flight.

I've finished the model as far as aesthetics go, so will post some pictures later today. That's such a nice thought to fly yours also on the 15th Dec. Here's a video of the Harrier's last day here in the UK. I will never forget being there, and the sound of 18 Pegasus engines shutting down together! Keep an eye out for the special fin at 2:07

Here's a couple of pics of the finished model. It turned out to be a Harrier GR7A not a GR9 a/c ZD404 33A 'Lucy'. Just waiting for Hobbyking to get their arses into gear and get my motor and esc mailed out to me!

Very nice work Dave, I suggest fit some balsa TE to your flaps, are you hand launching it? I love that farewell video, Thanks, really felt for you when hearing that engine shut-off, Joe.

Thanks guys, lw777pilot yes this is a stock Guanli Harrier with a few visual modifications. Jofro, yes I'm hand launching and have fitted strakes underneath to belly land onto. Joe1320, Thanks, I'm pleased with how it's turned out.
