YEP ... I'm monitoring BOTH of the Pioneer threads :-)
Way late but ... These are Flying Wing Airfoils I PRESUME and as such need a CG at ~20-25% not the usual 30% I have used the Marske Root airfoil section that I got FROM JIM MARSKE and found it to be a very nice flying section. I've been meaning to build a PioneerIII for some time now but just too lazy. I have a 3D model that I tried to mill but I used lousy cheap foam and it cam out a mess. If these folks are NOT offering a reasonable quality model I may have to revisit my previous efforts. I was expecting 2.6M Fox like quality, which also needed some rework but, still flys nicely. I would like to see the KIT offered for FULL assy from parts. THAT WAY we could inspect the sub assys and re glue if necessary and put my own personal Touches into it. L8r Bob |

A much more exhaustive analysis than mine. Thank you, kevin.
Much needed here, me thinks. The use of the Tip root swap for fsw on the widely used CG calc w was an eye opener. How could I have missed that simple but elegant work around. Overall I hope this model is a succes and indroduces more modelers to Marski's designs and the years of eperience that they demonstrate in Jims work. |

Hi Guys,
I sent you a private message Twiz. Sorry been busy with other projects. Had another go with the inboard elevator set up and trying a different COG. Got close to flying...but wing tip stalled on me. More damage and got really peeved and put it in the loft for now. I also got an email from RC Sun with COG point drawing. Read with interest all the new posts on this thread. Good luck with maiden Twiz will be waiting for your post with much interest and many many questions. Cheers Tony |

Well I made a mistake with the cg and measured wrong it not 60mm nor is it 40mm what they say. Since today flight I was getting closer to the perfect cg and right know I moved the battery forward just alittle and found from the pic they sent me was 10mm behind wheel and when I drew the line down to the wing it was showing 35mm but will do a flight this Friday and see what happens.
