You may want to consider changing just the control system at first.

Good Luck!

Its a little bit like my Little Bit ( no joke or pun intended, I really did build a Little Bit.. well two actually) Its a tailless electric plane and it flew great , way over powered with the motor I used and upon launch it would drop and torque to the left. The C.G was critical and close to the L.E ( 28mm from it) , certainly different to fly than a normal plane and would land rather fast too ( didn't like to be slowed down that much , but then it did have a small wing area) , I wonder if this has the same traits..? certainly a nice looking sailplane and something I may look at having a go at scratch building along the lines of..
Grant.

You must contact the supplier and ask them what's up, why the beautiful model flies so tough

YEP ... I'm monitoring BOTH of the Pioneer threads :-)

Way late but ...

These are Flying Wing Airfoils I PRESUME and as such need a CG at ~20-25% not the usual 30%

I have used the Marske Root airfoil section that I got FROM JIM MARSKE
and found it to be a very nice flying section.

I've been meaning to build a PioneerIII for some time now but just too lazy.
I have a 3D model that I tried to mill but I used lousy cheap foam and it cam out a mess.

If these folks are NOT offering a reasonable quality model I may have to revisit my previous efforts.

I was expecting 2.6M Fox like quality, which also needed some rework but, still flys nicely.

I would like to see the KIT offered for FULL assy from parts.
THAT WAY we could inspect the sub assys and re glue if necessary and
put my own personal Touches into it.

A much more exhaustive analysis than mine. Thank you, kevin.
Much needed here, me thinks.

The use of the Tip root swap for fsw on the widely used CG calc w was an eye opener.
How could I have missed that simple but elegant work around.

Overall I hope this model is a succes and indroduces more modelers to
Marski's designs and the years of eperience that they demonstrate in Jims work.

Hi Guys,
I sent you a private message Twiz. Sorry been busy with other projects.
Had another go with the inboard elevator set up and trying a different COG.
Got close to flying...but wing tip stalled on me. More damage and got really peeved and put it in the loft for now.
I also got an email from RC Sun with COG point drawing.
Read with interest all the new posts on this thread.

Good luck with maiden Twiz will be waiting for your post with much interest and many many questions.
Cheers

Well I found the cg to be wrong and someone said something like 60mm and thats sounding about right. It was way tail heavy so as I moved the battery forward it got better and better so Friday going to do some more flying and see where the cg ends up. I also found the power setting at launch is critical because to little and whats to nose drive and to much goes like a bat out of hell and is all over the place.

Suprising report.
I would expect it to glide well from even just a toss.
After all it is a mostly foam construction like the 2.3 Fox.

Guess we'll wain n see after teh CG gets all sorted out.

Well I made a mistake with the cg and measured wrong it not 60mm nor is it 40mm what they say. Since today flight I was getting closer to the perfect cg and right know I moved the battery forward just alittle and found from the pic they sent me was 10mm behind wheel and when I drew the line down to the wing it was showing 35mm but will do a flight this Friday and see what happens.
