I'm in love with my MCX 2, and just want to know your thoughts, modifications and DX6i settings for this wonderful piece of machienery.

I recently purchased a DX6i and its the best thing I have ever done

Here are my settings, which transorfmed my MCX 2 into a whole nother BEAST

D/R & EXPO
Be sure Elev D/R switch is in the 0 position to enter the first set of numbers.
AILE 0 75% +20%
ELEV 0 75% +20%
RUD 0 75% +20%
Now flip the Elev D/R switch to 1 to enter the next set of numbers
AILE 1 100% -5%
ELEV 1 100% -5%
RUDD 1 100% -5%

Instructions

Keep all your switches to 0 to start with.

If you flip the GEAR/F mode button to 1 you will have a more aggressive throttle curve.

The ELEV D/R switch will control the sensitivity of the sticks, like a high/low rate.

Also if you flip the gyro switch to 1 it will transform your Heli into an extreme beast, capable of new aerobatic stunts and maneuvers.

To have more or less sensitive I toggle between 0 and 1 with the ELEV D/R switch.

For a less aggressive throttle keep the GEAR/F MODE switch to 0. After you turn on your radio you can switch the GEAR/F MODE to the 1 position. When you turn off your radio then when you go to turn it on again it will beep until you put the GEAR/F MODE switch back to 0.

Let me assure you that I have tested Travel ADJ settings to ensure that they wont max out the servos.

ELEV - At 120%, allows approx an extra 5mm of throw before it maxes out.

If you have the MCX Tandem dial in 125% as it only speeds up or slows down the motors. (as Jim Booker would say) "That thing" rockets along with these settings.

AILE - At 110%, allows approx an extra 6mm of throw before it maxes out.

RUDD - dosen't matter as it is only slowing down and speeding up the motors, dial in 125% with these, and watch your MCX 2 pirouette like crazy. with the Carbon Fibre Tail Boom (CFTB) its a blur.

Also everyone to their own when it comes to their switches. I like to start off with it on the softer settings, then flick 'em down for some "hardcore coaxial flying" (Bahahahahaha)

Do these settings work for the original Mcx???


I have had one for a long time but now want to bind it to my Dx7.

I am hoping to get better response with a programmable transmitter.

Sure, they will work for the mCX, mCX2, mCX Tandem.

Also I believe they should work for the mSR, but I havent tried it cause I dont own one; YET!!

All up the added weight is less than 1 gram. While these upgrades havent noticabley improved the performance (except for the linkages), they have improved the durability, and the main frame works as a great heat sink, the motors bearly get warm now, improving the longevity of the motors. Plus the aluminium looks great.

Again this mod wont dramatically improve your performance, I just think it is more asthetically pleasing

I had to take my canopy off and do some wire re-routing because the white battery wire wanted to rub the gears. I zip -tied them to one of teh motors, but now wonder if the motor might get hot enough to cause a problem. The reverse battery is interesting.

This is another reason why I opted for my battery orientation. With the aluminium main frame there is little to no room between the motors, and I didnt want to jam the wires between them.

Love my MCX2. Bound it to my LP5DSM radio!

Nice mod above!

It's hard to beat the MCX2 for relaxing flying inside the house, particularly if you are new to helis.

Since I prefer the pod and boom set-up, and didnt want to abandon my navigation lights, I mounted the lights (minus the big red one) in the front canopy.

Its not always relaxing though, and I am not particularly new to helis, but Ive always had coaxcial helis.

I like to throw it off balance then zoom accross the room and try to catch it before it hits a wall.

Also its fun to fly in fff then do a 180 and continue in reverse, or 360's in fff.

And flying in tight circles (forwards or backwards) then adding some rudder is always fun, especially with my DX6i settings.

Im getting bored with spot landings now, I can land on an area smaller than a CD, more specifically the lid of my tobacco tub (Pall Mall Red 140g in Germany)
