lol...V8...definately not me, I've already made the "Walk of Shame too many times....LOL", but I can hold my own....when it comes to the sticks....???? most of the times ???...

I just have that same problem Aros has...Dodgeing those tree tops and doing a Carrier style landing, with a shortened approach angle.....lol

Thanks for the Birthday notes guys! This is a most excellent thread. My Squadron's newest reinforcement is on flying status, just waiting for a plane! There seems to be a communications breakdown between my Internet browser and Bananna Hobby! When I go to their website and search FMS 1700mm P-51 all I get are parts listings. Anyone have a good link? I am contemplating just calling them anyway to try to ensure that I get a version 2.

Thanks,

Aaron

Found it! Not the best website that I have seen but, got there!

Pete, ya the camera does make it look way faster than it really is landing however on the ground after landing the plane has its own tendency to want to turn, not a problem during takeoff. Because of this I have to fight it from constantly going into the curbs on either side of the road by making it turn faster and hope it stops. Just need to get that landing speed down to slow down my roll.
V8 -

Im sure you have already told us, but can you again let us know what camera you are using on the video? Also, how are you mounting it to your horizontal stab?

I have a 37" flat panel as a computer monitor...and sometime watch Youtube vids on my 115" projection screen. In both applications, your video resolution of 720p is strong!

Thanks

JK

Jlkitz,

When I mount on horz. stab I use a basic plain medium paper clamp and put camera between the 2 stainless arms and tape it to em. For vert stabs and my edf wing mount I use the same size medium paper clamp and modified it to have a swivle. Pry open the clamp a lil just losen its compression and not damage foam. See link below for modded clamp.

OK...... I just got off the phone with BH and being polite and all, the gentleman on the other end was not able to clear up the issue about FMS vs BlitzRCWorks listing for this plane. When I inquired about the version 2 (retracts issue) he said that only applied to FMS planes not the BlitzRCWorks plane. But then he was unable to tell me if the FMS plane was available. For those who have ordered recently from BH what key words do I need to use to get the FMS plane? He also mentioned that the BlitzRCWorks plane was set up with Deans connectors and the FMS plane used something else. I use Deans so that would be cool but, I really want to get the upgraded retracts and struts so... any ideas?

Thanks,

Aaron

Deans connectors are a bit dodgy for the amp levels this plane requires.

What is a better connector? I have been using Deans on high output ducted fans with no problems.

heya Todd,

that was awesome this afternoon, thanks for taking the time and meeting up and showin' me that monster 'Bald Eagle' and F-18 in action!

seeing it online is one thing but up close and personal was a just flippin' awesome

it's times like that where a guy like myself who wasn't seriously considering a plane of that size simply for the (lack of) ease to transport, to reconsider

hhmm... whatta ya think if the weather holds out, maybe we can meet up again later this week and this time I bring my Suburban with a couple larger birds? aaaaand maybe, we could see how that monster Stang would fit in the ol Burb, jussst in case I cave in sooner than later

great to finally meet ya, was a good time, thanks again

-Mark

btw guys... we never get to see the dude behind the cam so to speak, here he is

It was awesome meeting up with you too Mark! Glad we got a chance to fly. Your T-28 looked like a blast to fly! I'm definitely up for meeting up again later this week. Just give me a ring.

FMS is blitzrcworks. BH just pits their label on it. My P51 from them has BlitzRC on the box.
