Hey guys,

after yesterdays pics of the 3 new 1400mm wingspan birds Bf109F, FW190 and P-38, I today present you the pics of the new 1700mm/67inches P-51D Mustang, the larger sibbling of the 1450mm Mustang we all know too well

I don't know any further specs like if it flies on 4 or 5S, which motor it will have etc. Just got the photos yesterday and specs will follow within the next weeks...

Just let the pics speak for themselves, I find the cockpit detailing particularly incredible. But the rest is very nice, too. Note the inner gear doors, the gear struts and wheels, the surface detailing, the stencils etc. etc.

However I don't know why they choose the Gunfighter as paintscheme after the Parkzone and the Starmax, this is already the third foamy in this paintscheme. Or is it the fourth, I remember J-Power had a large Mustang as well in that scheme...

Wille be hard to distinguish this one from the just 100mm/4 inches smaller Starmax... well, just look at the cockpit and you'll know

Looks amazing!! I never really got excited for Mustangs...but I'm excited about 1700mm FMS planes!!

FMS is gonna put me in the poor house and the dog house Beltpilot, they are also doing the P47 in this size????

I thought it was a new 1400mm scheme.

I wonder if it will have the same wing flex problems as the 1400 or if they will use the duel carbon spar like the T-28. My T-28 wing have little to zero flex.

Again, nice aircraft. Why they picked "The Gunfighter" as a pattern makes no sense to me. An attractive ship - yes. But, it's been done before, by the competition, and anybody pondering a P-51 is going to be confused.

They should have done a distinct scheme to differentiate it from all the rest.

AWESOME !! like the cockpit a lot, funny to see the Hobby King Mig pilot in there, same as I use in my Pz-109 Will definetely stay with FMS from now on !

Damn that's awesome. Makes me loose interest in the HK P47 rather quick, because I know FMS makes much higher quality stuff.

About the paint job. I don't mind it. It might be same as others, but this is pretty damn large, I doubt anyone is going to get confused with the smaller one. And it's probably have been done a lot because it's a popular P51 scheme. I don't mind it. The Tuskegee one would have been cool though. I like the red tails. Or that blue one, I forget what those were called.

Honestly though, this will probably have to wait until I get my FW 190. I'm thinking 190 as Xmas gift, and giant P51 as bday in April

I will be watching this one.....too. I need a bigger house if FMS keeps this up.

I'll be interested to see how much that P-51 will cost. TW

Here's my personal opinion and ignore me if you don't agree.

• The 1700 mm P51 looks nice, but based on FMS' past track record of under-engineered components imagine how much time it will take to fix all of the new stuff that FMS deems "good enough".

• I am not an engineer but I think there's a threshold that a foam airframe reaches and beyond that it's too large and too heavy for flexible EPO.

• This is a plane that for most requires disassembly to get it to the field. I like to transport my foamies in one piece. If I have to spend the time to assemble and disassemble at the field I will do so on a more substantial wood framed aircraft.

• I'll bet the price of this falls just short of a quality wood framed P51 in the same size range.

If these manufacturers want to offer us a quality airframe, I'd like to see this plane in fiberglass and wood so that it not only looks the part but flies more precisely.
