What could this be?
I just watched the video of the 1975 championships and again noticed something very strange on the tail of Hanno's Curare, does anyone know what it could be for, it looks like a number of pins all held together with a cross-bar.

I posted the exact same question on another forum some time ago, see posts no. 20 and following.
I got a couple of answers that those were visual trim indicators, presumably set to show where the neutral position for each control should be or measure trim changes. The cross bar isn't solid, it is split at the end of the elevator. Alignment between the two pieces indicates trim.
