problem is...we live in windsor, better known as the city of winds-or storms, and i fly my planes only on those rare occasions when there is no wind. like the day of these videos. oh, well...we may try simulator instead.

dealing with children or youngsters is so much fun! they have that spark, that amazing quality of seeing life with a wonderful approach, that makes you feel young again. and watching them how fast they learn. i think that, if every child is guided properly, is a genius in the making.
regards

Do you have anywhere to slope soar, even if it's not a big hill? Slope soaring planes can have higher performance than any powered plane. I think a guy needs both power planes and slopers so he can fly no matter what the wind is doing. Kind of like golf clubs, one for every situation.

thanks for the idea. nevertheless, my style of flying is as slow as possible, and so my planes are designed for flying slow, and that is why i can't fly them in windy weather. it is the speed of flight relative to the wind that restricts them from flying in windy weather. a slope would change nothing regarding this. besides, it is not the performance that am after. but i understand your point. if i were looking for flying in wind, then your suggestion would work.
and this country is as flat and green as a billiard table!

Higher performance doesn't have to mean fast or aerobatic. It can just be slow, relaxing endurance way beyond what a battery can provide....like this: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1328355

keep it simple

my goal is to have fun. as you can see, i try to build simple, practical planes, just to have fun.
still, even without any intention to get performance, am getting 10 minutes from a 160 turnigy cell with my snowflake, climbing at 40% throttle, just buzzing around, doing touch and goes, catching, or landing dead stick.
if you follow my blog, you will see that i tried performance (competition indoor free flight), but that was before i decided to live a more relaxed life.
but it is each 1 on his own.
enjoy.

am glad it's working for you now.
to be honest, sometimes i don't know what's happening, and why things don't work the same even if i do the same steps. computers do strange things unexpectedly. just look at the yellow book for nerds, that keeps telling you about it.
