Its EPO and high quality EPO at that. Think they are sold out though. May have to look for one on the trader.

My thought is that it depends on the prop you intend to use. I prefer a 3-blader for more scale appearance, which drives me to lower kV motors (I've got a .32-class motor(4248) that goes 600 kV) in mine. I get a nice turn-of-speed with it spinning an MAS 12x8x3. If you're going for speed, however, the 2-blader on the higher kV motor is the ticket. And Turnigy seems to be a fairly inexpensive and good option.

Hiya John, that motor will bolt straight in , I use a 35-48 900 kv though on 4s with a 9x7x3 but have used a 12x6 and 11x7 with the same motor in a hyperion 109e. I reckon the 1100 kv would be alright with 3s but would draw more amps.
The low kv and 4s setup keeps the amps on mine down to 30ish A static, which means esc and batt both stay nice and cool.
Thanks all for nice comments , it does look a bit rougher in the flesh and isn't quite the beauty like some of the works of art I have seen posted in this forum,
but it flys so well !! and looks good in the air.
HH have discontinued their Hurri as well sadly, pity its hard for not so "popular"
kites to get a run, but I suppose we live in a consumer market. I'd better get my building board out and learn how to build from plans again.

Thanks guys for the info as I am hoping to run a 3 cell pack but if I have to I do have a couple 4 cell packs I can use. I am hoping to be able to run a HL 11-10-3 prop but will have to see what numbers I pull when everything is plugged in. I don't run my stuff hard as I like to fly scale as I find it more of a challange than screaming around the sky with the left stick all the way to the stop.
Its funny as a lot of guys I fly with comment, you fly so smooth how do you do it, my answer, I use all the controls, ailerons, elevator rudder and throttle and what ever else is on the plane in a scale fashion. I have my 3-D/sport planes to get crazy with but find scale flight more my style of flying. John

Thanks, Woody!

I have the big, bright white LEDS for the landing lights, and have ordered the little 3mm white one for the tail light. You have to be careful wiring these, as different LEDs require different voltages, so need different resistors.

Ok so I am using my wifes hotglue gun and it holds well but is there a secret to keeping the glue from stringing and oozing out? My wife says you just remove the strings of glue after using it once cooled. I am using a blade to remove the excess glue but think epoxy is much cleaner to use. John

I would use UHU POR cement.

Since it a lot less messy, as well as time critical. Personally, I would think of a hot-melt glue gun for art&craft type work, where you just want to stick some stuff together where the fit is not critical, and you probably will just throw the whole thing away, anyhow.
Of course, it is a matter of personal choice.
