Build Log
Sukhoi/Hal Pak Fa concept FGFA design/build

DESIGNED FROM PICS AND NOT EXACT...JUST RELATIVE SHAPE. TOP INLETS ALLOW AIRFLOW TO ENTER THROUGH TOP OF WING. DUAL LAYERS FORM SLIGHT AIRFOIL. ONLY SINGLE ELEVONS ON PROTOTYPE UNTIL SUCCESSFUL FLIGHT. WORKING AIRBRAKE, ALTHOUGH TEST WILL BE CONDUCTED AT REASONABLE ALTITUDE JUST TO BE SAFE. DESIGNED FOR EITHER EDF OR PUSHER, AND WILL GO WITH A PROP VERSION ON THE TEST VEHICLE.

TEST PLATFORM CONSTRUCTED OF FOAM BOARD, NEXT VERSION WILL HAVE REVISIONS AND DEPRON CONSTRUCTION. PLANS TO FOLLOW IF THIS CONCOCTION OF FOAM AND GLUE INDEED FLYS.

AND BEFORE I GET CALLED OUT, I KNOW THE CANOPY ISNT SCALE...NEITHER IS THE LENGTH, OR BRAKE POSITION, OR SPLIT ELEVONS, OR THE BEND IN THE BEAK...AND THE PILOT/ENGINEER IS NEITHER RUSSIAN OR INDIAN.

WINGSPAN-28"
LENGTH-40"
WEIGHT-CLASSIFIED

NOW, LET THE COMMENTS AND CRITICISMS COMMENCE.

HERE YOU CAN SEE THE INLET FROM THE TOP LAYER SINKS INTO THE OPENING IN THE BOTTOM LAYER ADDING TO, FOR GOOD OR BAD, THE AIR FLOW OF THE LOWER INLETS...WE WILL SEE.

looks great to me. those upper inlets shouldn't give you too many problems, as long as they aren't too close to the fans. they'll basically act like cheater holes. this won't be great for top speed, but will be awesome for static thrust for takeoff and vertical maneuvers. this is all dependant on your intake area and what percentage of FSA they are, without the top inlets. it would be interesting to know what the area of the bottom inlets are and the top inlets, then combine them together and put that against the area of your fans.

is this for single fan, or twin fans? if it's a single, all those intakes might be too much and you'll scrub top speed, which isn't really an issue anyway.

Rich

Rich-it will be for twins, although that will be later, and better thrust in exchange for high speed is cool for a first version, for me at least...tests will tell all.

Thanks guys
