The "quit flying" behavior is caused by a tail-heavy CG. By way of explanation (short version) at landing speeds the tail is ineffective at producing lift compared to the wing (b/c it's smaller) causing a tail heavy plane to drop its tail, slow down more, and stall. Conversely, as the tail loses lift at low speeds, a nose heavy plane drops its nose, self-correcting the situation. This is reason #982 that tail-heavy planes are challenging.

Unfortunately most tail heavy planes are toast somewhere between reasons 1-981.

So the question I have then is when CG is set per the manual is that a tail heavy plane by Bens statement?

I had to add 1 oz of nose weight to get this to Cg, I hate doing it, but it flys great now

yep, but for now I like it, I don't think it lacks power for what I want it for, my 60" extra with 4315-480 on 6s is my power ship

I like to have mine on a switch instead of throttle based.

hs65mg tail, hs65hb aileron (already have these and long arms)
ice 50 lite (already have)
gens 3s 2200 (I have 3x25c but may order some 60c)

Looks good 14x7 would be the prop to get

Probably work okay but here are my thoughts;

The HB servo is not a metal gear servo. I do not think long arms are a good thing as you will increase the leverage and stress loads on the plastic gears. Aileron will have enough travel on standard length single arm.

With the 65MG in the tail the battery will be tucked under the cowl that you might not like. I am using 3S 2200's also and pull pull and with a super lightweight Falcon 13x6.5 wood prop I can only get one strap on with about 1" of the battery sticking out from the cowl. When I switch to a 14x7 APC prop (heavy prop) the battery moves back about 1-1/4" or so.

My 2200's are 35C Glaciers and are amazing. I fly 6 minutes and land with 3.78v/cell average and are barely warm.

I am still undecided on the right prop. I don't really like the APC and will wait for the Falcons to be back in stock or I will get a Xoar in 14x7. I do se that Joe flys the 13x6.5 in this with a O130g motor.

Do u think 65hb on ailerons will be okay with stock arms. Im pulling these from another build. Its not a big deal to pick up some 65mg if they make a difference.
