come to think of it, I always wonder why, for FPV, to people even look at amps. I always set up my OSD to display power (Watts). That way, I know what the motor(s) is(are) putting out, regardless of battery condition. Current readings vary by too much depending on the state of charge to be useful for specifying flight performance for me.

Great question.....I just plotted what was provided

Sounds good. Can you give a link to that motor? What kind of amps are you getting at WOT?
Thanks.

You know what? I think I goofed! I actually go this motor
http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...7&pid=B1898545

I don't have any tested specs for it yet, as I'll have to get some XT-60s on my wattmeter. But it works really well. It won't take my Skywalked straight up at WOT but I can climb pretty aggressively at 45-50 degrees. But do you know what? Even if my climb was restricted to 30 degrees, I wouldn't mind. This is just my liotering FPV plane.

9x5 Master Airscrew

4.9A = 405g thrust
9.8A = 700g thrust
15.2A = 980g thrust
23.0A = 1300g thrust
25.6A = 1420g thrust
25.9A MAX = 1425g thrust
I just ran a test with the exact same setup and although I can only measure up to 1000gm my results were spot on with yours.

Basically keep those test results coming!

You mention the Parkzone 9.5x7.5 - sounds like the best matched prop for that motor on 4S but I reckon the yet to be tested Master Airscrew 9x6 might be the safer bet considering the proximity of the tail boom.

I'm getting some of these 9x6E to test as well.

I forgot to get some MA 9x6 - duh...

Just found this 9x7.5E - could turn out to be 'the prop' for that motor.

Only thing to add at this time, I started doing motor research with Motocalc 8. The program pretty much convinced me that the Scorpion line of motors (and Hyperion) were some of the most efficient on the market. I went with a Scorpion SII-3020-780. I am running my Skywalker in the exact same configuration as I did when I ran the Turnigy 3542/1000 6 pole.

Motocalc8 said that I should be cruising at 30mph on 5.4amps using the Scoprion SII-3020-780 and a 9x7 three blade master airscrew pusher.

My actual results are closer to 7.2Amps. Although the Scorpion is a very well built motor, it costs three times as much as the Turnigy. You have to decide if the 1 less amp is worth a $100 motor.

All of that may be true, but I'd also trust a Scorpion motor much more than I would a Turnigy. That being said, I'd buy the turnigy becasue I don't have the money for a scoripon.

I've bought this 1250kv to try on it, with a 9 x 7 graupner folder on 3s. I might try it on 4s too if it/ the plane survives long enough.

Havn't even got the plane yet though.
