New Product
New!! 3mm Colored $Store Foam Sheets w/No Paper!!

I don't know if this is old news but I just noticed that the colored poster board at my Yankee Dollar store was foam, not cardboard.

Picking up a sheet I noticed that there was also no paper on the back, which was pure white foam. Looking more carefully at what I thought was colored paper on the front, I began to think it was just flat colored paint.

I bought a few sheets in red and yellow, and yes it does seem that there is no paper on it at all. I can't tell if there is an extremely thin plastic film under the paint, or whether it is just a foam finish which seems like a film.

Anyway it is 3mm not 5mm and seems to have no paper, it is absolutely smooth with no waves, and has a flat bright color on one surface. Comes in: red, green, blue, white, black, and yellow were available.

The label says:

Made in China
Dynamic
Suffern NY 10901
Item # 54860
Foam Display Board
20" x 30"
Yellow

What to build with it really quick? Something simple I can do in an evening. Something not too big -- stuff seems a little flexible.

2S blue wonder-ish

Remember it's Yankee Dollar, not Dollar Tree (we have both stores here, and I didn't see any in DollarTree -- just the usual 5 mm ReadiBoard).

I'm thinking GPW's Blue Albacorde for the first trial. I happen to have a J250 lying in a drawer and a 15A Aveox brushed esc. and a 350 mah, and a 800 mah 2S pack.

The only thing is, this is 3mm stuff, not 5mm, like fanfold.

But maybe I can double it up -- which would keep the color on the outside on both sides.

And uh, think I'll go with the red. So a Red Albacorde?

I wonder it its available anywhere else. Can't be the only outlet that manufacturer sells to.

Company name is "Dynamic Manufacturing and Distributing" in Suffern, NY.

Red Albacorde

Well, made patterns and cut foam for a GPW Blue albacord using the new colored foam.

Seemed pretty obvious to me after cutting the wing that 3mm in this stuff wasn't going to hack it for a model this size. So I laminated it to 6mm using a light spray of 3M77.

I did that for all of the model -- took two sheets of foam (gosh 2 bucks) instead of one. If I'd been smarter about it I would have just laminated the whole foam sheet together before cutting parts. But I didn't...

Anyway, here's progress so far.

The nice thing about laminating for a profile model is that the color is on both sides of any part.

Hi,
You could always laminate two different colours. Then it would be easy to identify for inverted flight etc.

Wish we had dollar tree type foam here in the UK for the same price as you guys.
