I didn't just find a canopy in my collection of stuff but yes I did. Well can anyone see what old Grumpy Bill DID ? (Note to the editor) Don't wander too far from the plans I thought I did a nice job on the mid section sheeting, picking it up and marveling at my work then I spotted it. The rudder servo that is. Now how is old Billy going to make any adjustments with no way to get to it.

DON'T PUT IT BEHIND F-4 !!!

Turtle deck next and the rudder,oh almost for got the motor too silly me.

I cut away a little material on both the head and mast to give me more forward travel then glued it in place.

See you guys later Bill GRUMPY after that mistake

LOL My building board is a 4'X8' bench and the best I can clear off at any given time is about 2square feet! I just put the first coat of color on the PCA elevator to see if I am getting the desired scale effect. Looks acceptable. I'll post pics on my build thread.

Now back to recovering blades. Seems like that's all I've been doing for months!

Bill the build looks sooo good! well done mate,
The red and yellow are a nice match.

At the cost of a servo these days not getting to the rudder servo is not a problem.

Regards
Andy

BILL! That would look awesome if you could slice the rudder into the canopy somehow and leave as much of the canopy as possible.
Just a thought. Looking good!
(I thought I was the only one who built parts into the plane and then covered them over!)

Bill,
That looks great!!..but I do have a concern.

When I first flew the panther I got a yawing effect in the air due to lack of vertical fin area. This was cured by adding those finlets to give extra area. I am worried that your fin area has been reduced some what? but 'worry' is my middle name

Bill,
How about adding finlets on top of the tailplane as well? That should work out ok and look different!

Yep Chris I am going to have my servo just like yours, I was able to pop off the servo behind F-4 and retrieve it so all is well there. Not completely sure that I am going to use all of that canopy I still have in mind to build a turtle deck just trying to make it eraser to cover later. Ok back to work

Bill

What do you guys think? cover what I have now then build the turtle deck over the glued in tailplane. or Glue in the tailplane build the turtle deck then cover all at once. Still pondering over this.

Now I know this may sound a little strange, but after damaging (and repairing) so many tailplane's over the years. I dont stick them in place. I make a tight fit, so if they get knocked ay any time ,they dont break ,just move a little. Its not as if autogyros a screaming around at high speed is it?

Mounted the motor and fitted the cowl today. going to hook up the servos and install the radio gear so I can see things work tomorrow. Still fretting over the turtle deck I should just glue it in and learn how to cover.

Bill

Have you got any side thrust on your motor?
I started with none (forgot in my great haste!) but have ended up with about 3 degrees and I think it handles better like this.
Cheers

Managed to paint the cowl, and cover the hatch and down one side. Someone come to the house and pat me on the back for me this is a money shot, Covering is not my strong suit must be inspired by the project. A little at a time due to working nights and sleeping during the day but we will keep at it.
Vacation next week so I see a finished project in the near future
