Probably not. I don't think the intent was for the Scimitar was to be a super fast plane. I have left mine stock and am fine with it. I think the intent was to have a plane with a very wide flight envelope with the ability to perform some very dynamic flying. If your looking to go super fast I think something like of funjet, or perhaps if your brave enough a hotliner. We have a couple of guys at our feild that are 160-180 with those.

I fly both the Habu 2 and the Scimitar. The Habu 2 is about 10-15 mph faster. It also flies and feels differently as they are very different planes. The Habu 2 is a great jet trainer, and has a scale jet look and feel. It can prepare you to move up to the Habu 32, which pushes 130 mph stock. Very exciting.
The Scimitar is a prop pusher flying wing which can do aerobatics the Habu 2 can't even think about. So I enjoy both for what they are, and they are VERY different. If you want 100 mph speed, mod the Habu 2 for 5S per the thread on this forum. It is easy, and you will be rewarded with a nice flying sport jet. |

So I finally went out and bought a watt meter today. I threw in an ICE Lite 100. The stock prop only pulls 55amps peak and 50 constant, contradictory to everything I've seen in this thread. I threw an APC 9x9e on and pulled... 55amps peak and 50 constant. Very disappointed I wasted money on the ICE 100. I can't see a 5s setup doubling the amp draw on the 9x9. I'll probably be lucky to even break the 75amp peak the stock ESC is rated for.
Where are these huge amperage numbers coming from? |

Nobody seems to have done any motor swaps that I can find, so I guess I'll be the first. I'm thinking of one of these for a 4s setup with a 9x9:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...r-2330W-1400kV I'll have to ballpark it and then see what direction I need to go with the prop. |
